Response from Jeep UK when asked if this TSB would be rolled out in the UK.

“Thank you for your email.
Further to your enquiry, we would like to inform you that vehicles manufactured for different Countries may fit different components. Furthermore, we are regrettably unable to provide or confirm any technical information on a vehicle, without a chassis number or VIN, or which has not been manufactured yet.”

Still waiting for my parts.........
So your dealer has obviously agreed that the TSB is applicable to the UK vehicles.
Do you have the p/n of the new parts?
I wonder if getting @JeepCares involved with this would encourage Jeep UK to improve their service, as by my above experience, they’re not interested.

all info you need is in this thread, read from the start

I involved Jeep directly from the UK Jeep website via the contact form, this prompted my dealer to get interested.

Now its just a case of waiting, this is now a valid TSB for us and modifications within limits are acceptable.

Parts just aren't ready yet :(

Just had a call from Jeep, my replacement steel steering box has finally arrived and booked in repair 15th Feb (earliest they could do due to lock-down).

Anyone buying a Jeep pre 2021 reg will have the older aluminium steering boxes and these are junk!! Nasty dead zone in the middle and wandering gibbering wreck at highway speed. I find it weird some folks do not report problems as I have driven over 7 JL Wranglers and they all suffered. Could be that some do not mind the vauge wandering steering and find it acceptable?

Good news is they can now be replaced for the steel ones, however expect quite a wait.

Meant to add, as others have suggested there is a screw where you can adjust the slack on the aluminium steering boxes, however this is not recommended. Jeep intentionally kept the aluminium boxes lose to accommodate for heat-flex when the steering box gets hot. Also the screw is glue set from factory, but it may explain why some have more complaints than others as the screw set is very sensitive, so even and 1/8 turn will make difference. Its possible some got lucky with a tighter set box, but I have not been lucky enough to find one having driven 7 of them.
Be warned if you over-tighten the screw the box could be toast very quickly!
The new steel boxes do not suffer from heat-flex, they are nice and tight, driving straight as a result and far more responsive :)

I must be lucky... my JLUR is one of the latest built with aluminum box (Q3 2020) and I have zero play in the steering at 12 o'clock position and it is very responsive.

Anyways, wish you best of luck with the new black box and please report back how your steering is behaving after the replacement.

So just to check, are the RHD 2021 models coming with the new steel box now? I assume they would be despite the battle with the TSB being sorted outside of the US.

Yes they should come with the new steel box which were released Late Nov 2020. AS there is a TSB you would be covered for the new steel box anyhow, but ofcourse better to get one fitted from factory.

Hi Jon!
I must be one of the lucky persons with no general steering issues (or maybe I just do not recognize them) , I still wonder - have you already driven any JL with a steel box to be able to compare? Maybe I should also push my dealer to replace the steering box to the steel one... I mean, driving my JLUR is totally different from driving BMW, but I couldn't say that it's "horrible"... on the other hand if so many people had these steering issues - maybe my JLUR can be even better )))
