I’m not entirely sure but on my dad’s Kia Soul it was a safety feature that you can set yourself in the settings

It' under settings in the uconnect.

Slow down? Hehehehe. On my Kenwood, you could tap on the speed limit sign and adjust it for any updates to the area.

For those looking with Navigation package.

Found it under Navigational settings, could either turn it off or adjust speed warning threshold.
