Anybody else, AC on at start up. No auto climate

2018 JLU, base 5" radio. No auto climate. The AC turns itself on when I start the Jeep. Not accidentally hitting the AC button. Was doing this very radomly before, starting to happen more often. Temps are getting colder in northern Ohio and I don't need the AC turning on at start up. Anybody else have this issue?

I brought it up to the dealer a bit after I bought it. Didn't bother to much at the time. Yep, definitely dealership time. Was just wondering if anyone else has the same issue. Figure I'm going to get "never hear of that before" from the dealer...

Your air temperature knob has a MAX A/C setting on the far left. If the knob is turned to that setting, A/C will activate automatically.

Yep, definitely know that. AC turns wherever the temp knob is set. That's why it's starting to get on my nerves. Heat set to medium, start the Jeep, AC will be on. Getting to where I start up...push the auto-start off button , push AC off...

A/c compressor runs with the heat to reduce moisture. This is on all vehicles forever.

The compressor will run anytime the defrost is on. Correct, that is done to remove moisture from the air. But the compressor doesn't run when set to floor, center vents, etc. Other wise why would you have an AC button? It would just run all the time, just adjust the temp. Also...the AC light doesn't come on in defrost mode (normally).

It doesn't run all the time, the knobs just give you the illusion of control. It turns on as it sees fit. Thanks, robots.

So you can run it in fan mode to draw in outside air
