I’m curious if there is a mod that will increase the sound of the turbo and get a little bump in power.
I don’t like the sounds of a blow off valve.

That's just an axleback, no turbo sound and no power differences. Just exhaust noise, which doesnt sound that good imo.

Really the only way to get turbo noise and power is taking the cats off.

hmmmm. I will have to check and see what they tell me about warranty and the downpipe.

maybe the mishimoto intake and this downpipe, along with a chip?

wonder what kind of hp and torque gains we can get without voiding warranty.

I would start with the mishimoto intercooler pipe. You can take it off before getting warranty work done so they won't know.

Mishimoto has dyno sheets somewhere. It's not a big power increase like the downpipe. The intercooler pipe seems like the only simple way to make more power.

A downpipe will definitely give a check engine light with no cats. You can clear the light with a tazer I think though.

Cold side changes will give you louder spool and blowoff sounds, hotside will make the turbo louder. Catless downpipe, straight pipe exhaust, vent to atmosphere waste gate, things like that.

Two things...

1) My last car was a VW Tiguan with a similar engine... I put an after market exhaust (don't remember if it was Magnaflow or Borla)... and it had a nice low sound to it... wasn't obnoxious, but enough that people noticed.

2) I had a cold air intake on a 98 Accord V6... it was a higher revving engine... it was quiet up to 3000RPMs, but when I hit the gas and got above that, it started making race car (Not literally) noises.

I've done nothing with the Jeep... it's just not a good sounding engine and I don't want to throw money at it.
