Unless you have one of these and the associated equipment there is no point to measuring: http://www.staraliner.com/. A tape measure and driveway will not be accurate enough.
What if some of the welded brackets, for example, were attached at least 1/4 inch off? A tape measure should be good enough, one might think.

It is possible IF a person Is experienced, if you’re the type of person that cuts a 2x4 twice and it’s still too short...don’t bother. First start with level ground, not almost level ground but level ground and a plumb bob, string and a tape measure. You’ll be measuring the CENTRE point of the mounting hardware. At one time this is how it was done. No short cuts... take all the wheels off and put it on stands. Your line of measure must be straight, NO BENDING of the tape measure. There’s a reason that frame racks and alignment racks were produced and while this can be done in the manner described it is typically no longer done. Remember, you’ll have to measure the mounting points of the linkage and possibly get into 3D measuring. Finally you’ll have to have a reference point and know what the acceptable +/- tolerances are. The easy way is, have a beverage of your preference and put in on a frame rack.

I doubt that you’ll find anything wrong in this area. The problem lies elsewhere.
