im going to assume that death wobble can be cured with heavier duty aftermarket parts, careful installation of such items. im still waiting to buy but i had and this was my problem, the first thing i'd do is talk to a dedicated jeep specialist shop and see if the aftermarket could fix my issue. but then when i buy, i plan to upgrade stuff anyway.

this may be a bitter pill to swallow for some but there are a number of issues that simply could be done better and the aftermarket will probably provide better hardware. in particular, if i end up buying, one of my goals is to at a minimum upgrade the front axle, get rid of half-assed axle disconnect and go to locking hubs which should provide slightly better gas mileage and remove one of the weaker design choices in the jl.

if i had a jeep, and liked it but it had death wobble, and i wanted to keep it and not go through the buy back hassle or fight with the dealer who would most likely install similarly weak parts, this is what i would do.

and i dont think a heavier steering damper alone is the correct answer.
