Any Idea what tool to use to access these screws?

They are on the under side of my one touch. My ratchet and tork driver are too big.

Edit: The thickness between the rail and screw is at most 1 1/2 inched thick

Have you tried the little ratchet/torx in the Jeep toolkit?

Not to be a smart butt, but maybe a smaller torx bit. Harbor Freight has a nice set very reasonable.

Thanks. I wouldn't know which on would fit

Hey Larry, as Steve said, and I can attest to, having done exactly what he says (i.e. buying it,) it's a set: meaning there's a good chance one of the torx bits in the set fits your need. : - )

Thanks. I have torx set with the correct bit. However once applied to the ratchet it too thick to fit between the rails

If you're using a ratchet, use a u-joint and an extension.

Option B, get a socket to wrench adapter so you can use a wrench.

Those torx bits are typically hex shaped so if you can get a bit to fit you can then use an open ended wrench to turn the torx bit.

Ok....get a cheap set of Torx where the tool steel bit resides in a chrome socket of sorts. Separate the two through whatever means necessary, leaving only the hex shank of the actual bit.

Use ratcheting box or even open end wrench on bit. Ultra low Z-space tool, voila!

You can also find 1/4" hex shanked Torx bits in lots of little tool kits (the annoying homeowner ones that like to claim 2,507,427 pcs by adding lots of little bits you'll never use to get the claimed "piece count" up), but they probably don't go as large as you need, ie I've never seen a T40 torx with a tiny 1/4 hex shank

edit: what ExitLeft said as I was typing!

The socket end of a torx bit is 1/4" I believe, that being said you can put the bit in the screw and then use a 1/4" wrench to turn it. A pain, I know, but it will only take a few turns until you can use your fingers to turn it out. Why are you removing them?

Thanks. Unfortunately trying to tighten them. I have a bit of a rattle when the one touch is opened. Trying to save a trip to the dealer.
