It does look like a shelf peg for a cabinet or book shelf? Hopefully it's not a FCA employee playing games and leaving non JL related parts during assembly to keep everyone guessing. lol. I would assume a FCA part would have a part number on it. Any numbers?

I remember a article about Brian Bosworth the football player. He was big news back in the day when he was in collage before going pro briefly. Bosworth worked on a Big-3 assembly line in the summer of 1985. He joked about leaving random nut and screws inside the doors so they would rattle and drive the buyer of the car nuts. What a jerk.

Showed it to my Jeep parts guy but he thought it might be a temp plug during assembly.

plug for the hinge pin hole during painting?
It would fit, it definitely has a twist lock to it. Not sure a peg is in hinge to hold it.

I’d bet $10 it’s something left from the assembly process. I had something under my carpet... can remember what, it been months.
