I just came across a post on U-tube, talking about the new 2.0. It goes in depth on all the cooling lines and cooling systems on this new 2.0 Jeep. Looks like a person better be careful when driving where there are lots of big sticks ects!

I have 2 questions for those of you who have gotten your turbos in the last 2 weeks.

1. Is the Steering issue resolved on your Jeep? People have been reporting on ones built months back there is about a 1/2 inch dead spot when moving the steering wheel.
2. How do the brakes on the Rubicon feel? Brake upgrades are usually one of the first things I do on my jeeps, so I was wondering how the new ones perform. I

My brakes on my rubicon unlimited are impressive!

That is good. I found my 2014 JK brakes to be soft and not as responsive as I would like. I upgraded to the mopar big brake kit and it was a major improvement. Glad to hear the Rubicon has good brakes.

Any input on the dead zone of the steering wheel?

1. All good!
2. All good!

I can tell a slight difference in braking with my heavy 37s on.... But still plenty of braking power.

That is great news, I have been worried about both of those items.

Not a owner yet but test drove 12 different ones. Both 3.6, 2.0, JL/JL, Sport S, Rubicon. Out of 12 only 5 felt good steering wise. Mostly the 2.0 steering felt better, probably because the 2.0s just hit the lots so they are newer with most recent production? Don't know if it's due to different steering assist, tires, updated programming, newer steering boxes, lot of variables.

Rubicon brakes feel fine but I only took test drives. I can't give opinions on brake fade because it was all easy street and highway. I can comment on brake feel. Brake feel was good, firm, what you would expect for a new vehicle. A actual Rubicon owner would have a much better report on brakes in the field on trails if that's what you are interested in.

JL Rubicon and Sahara have larger brakes from factory.

Hi,

I ordered my Jeep on May 5th, the dealer placed the order on May 9th, details below. I was supposed to pick up my Jeep today, but got a call from the dealership saying not to pick it up because there is a loud, unusual noise from the bottom. HOW CAN A JEEP STRAIGHT FROM THE FACTORY BE BROKEN ALREADY? Didn’t it get an inspection at the factory? the dealership said he wants his head transmission mechanic to look at it, and he will not be back in until Monday. Just seems fishy to me.

I am leary of taking delivery when it is already having issues right off the truck. The dealership has already sold my trade-in, so there is no getting that back. What should I do? I am without a car now, please advise... .

I couldn't wait any longer for my JL 2.0 Rubicon, so I bought a Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk.
I'm sure the screen is probably the same as the Grand Cherokee. If you have the 8 inch. screen and the highest upgrade electronics you can go into settings, there is 3 different settings for steering, light, med., hard. When I first drove the JL, I felt it wanted to wonder. I would recommend trying that. Also, remember the tires are new, probably to much air pressure. Drive them a while, you will find they will get better.

Turning over your car before your new one arrives is never a good idea.

I know of one brand new JL where the noise turned out to be a bad automatic transmission. Noise and severe oil leaks at a couple of hundred miles. It's a bad situation. I think they are trying to have FCA do a buy back under lemon law?

Make sure they did not sell it someone else and is making up excuses. Go to the dealer to see and hear your JL. It depends on what the noise is. If it's very minor like loose bolt or something maybe consider taking it after repairs are made. I would not buy a new car of any brand if it arrived at dealer with a serious noise from engine or transmission. I would order another one or take one out of inventory if there is something you like. You might be married to the dealer because they sold your trade-in and you might have a tax credit from your trade? See if the dealer will provide a loaner car while you wait if you have to order again. Or shop at another dealer if they have what you want in inventory and can sell at 5%-6% under invoice? How much was your trade and was there a sales tax credit?

Good luck on this.

So, I have 69 miles on it and the check engine light just came on with a message telling me the start/stop system is not functioning...ugh
I was able to get to the dealer early this morning. The Jeep had a code of P0404 EGR Position Performance Circuit. The technician found a loose pin at circuit K638 dark blue and grey wire. He repaired the pin at terminal 4. It seems everything is working now as it should...

My Rubicon was just built in August and I have no steering issues or brake issues , the more I drive the more I like it , it has an amazing ride with a lot pep and torque , really happy I waited for the turbo !!

Oh man. That sucks on an epic scale. Kudos to you for managing to joke about it.

I get that this is a complex process, but I don’t get how FCA is OK cranking a number of new JLs in under 4 weeks when some loyal/early adopters like you are in limbo.

You’ve got a terrific attitude, but I feel indignant on your behalf! :stop: :swear:
Well said
