My build sheet says I have anti spin differential but when I went to change fluid and cover it was an open diff. Unless I’m missing something in how it works what gives. I bought this 2020 certified pre owned. I’m second owner. Is this a complaint I can bring up with my dealer.

You saw spider gears in the differential case? The anti spin looks like a regular open diff by eye but has clutches on the side gears that you cant really see.

What makes you think it's an open diff? Are you going just by looks or did you actually test it? By looks this particular model looks very similar to a standard open diff. The clutch packs are back behind the side gears and pretty hard to see.

Jack it up and spin a wheel, if LSD the other one should spin the same way. That’s how we used to tell anyway.
Yep. If the rear wheel across from the one you're spinning turns in the opposite direction, that's usually a sign of an open differential.

Tony -- Since you purchased a used vehicle, there's at least the possibility that the prior owner changed the differential from an LSD (if it indeed had one from the factory) to an open diff. The clutch pack in the factory limited slip axle will wear over time, as a consequence of its design and functioning. The prior owner's use case may have accelerated such wear, thus compelling a repair or replacement. I'm not saying that happened, but unless you know the full history of the Jeep, it's just something to keep in mind.

Or worn out clutches on a limited slip, which happens to all of them eventually.
