Agree 100%. Been driving all manner of Jeeps for decades and have had a similar experience. Best ones were those with the least amount of computerized witchcraft, including Willys MB, M-38, CJ-3B, and early CJ-5s. As I've said elsewhere in this forum, my current JL will likely be my last Jeep product and I'll never look back...as if Stellantis cares.
WOW, those were the days, if had ANY tools you Jeep would see a shop. Seen some stuff. One of the guys on a run had an older, CJ? and broke the driver-side rear axle shaft. OMG what are we going to do to get you out here, we were way out back on a week-long run. IIRC we heading back. He has axe and he said hang I will be back. He come back with about 4-6 in tree, jacks up the Jeep takes off the axle shaft and wheel, straps on the tree underneath the axle and extends to the Jeep sit level. Then he drives off and took us better part of the day and I think twice he had to extend the log cause it wore down. Not only did we get back be he drove home like that, he did not live that far away.

Those Jeeps were bullet proof back in those days...

yes, someone else figured out how to build and make the engine run, rebuilding or fixing broke parts or components to a fix setting isn't rocket science. Maybe I have a different mind set, but I honestly believe its not that hard, having the correct tools is the biggest setback for working on your own things. I didn't go out to the store one day and buy the 100k + tools I own, I enjoy learning and working on my own things so I do not have to rely on other people. I'm in the middle of rebuilding an entire 88 samurai, its a lot of work as is anything, but I know how its spose to work and have all the documentation to follow. I'm not reinventing a wheel. I've rebuild electrical motors by hand in the navy and worked on avionics in blackhawks, its only hard if you don't understand what you are working on and let your mind tell you that you can't figure it out. at least that's just me and im some dumb retired army guy
YOU TOO? Retired in '94 and have NEVER LOOKED BACK...

I've enjoyed all my jeeps especially my TJs, and I still think the JL has the best interior and exterior looks. Sadly I too think Stellantis just doesn't care about this line anymore, and somehow thinks they can enter the electric market.......I'd recommend they figure out the 12v charging system first before moving onto things they clearly dont understand.
WHAT WE NEED:

Jeep JB (Jeep Builder). Jeep stripped down, few options:

AC/heat
Stick trans or Auto
4:1 Transfer
Rubicon Axles, lockers or just a set of Dana 35's and you buy your own axles
Cloth Seats
Inside/outside paint tub, LineX optional inside & out
Hard or soft top
Doors, no doors. half doors, soft doors
V 6 gas burner or Engine delete.

MSRP $34k, unless engine delete, $30k

I would JUMP on this in a New York Minute!

True— as long as you were satisfied with the factory capabilities and max 160hp ( BuickV6 and AMCV8) starting in 66. Dad’s 50 is still going although the 60hp Go Devil was replaced with a 72hp Hurricane after the 3’rd blown head gasket ~1970 (with a 12V upgrade), To make my MD that started a little stouter than a 5 highly capable both off and on road required swapping or upgrading every part except the body, down to the frame and seats . “every” is not an exaggeration …. worthless stock heater exception. But yea- those were the days, nothing unnecessary- emergency repairs with a screwdriver, crescent wrench and bailing wire.

Weren't you shown the door? (I'm not saying that should have occurred; it's just that I've not seen anyone return from such a thing.)

Your money your choice. But coming from a taco, it really is a boring truck. Just like every other Toyota out there.
I currently own a Toyota car and I owed a Tacoma truck, Toyota makes a great running vehicle, but you called it; talk about boring, it was so boring, I sold it inside of 6 months, just boring!!!!

I'm sorry to see another jeep owner go due to poor customer service but this is going on everywhere. Am I the only one who's had to deal with Comcast? I need a beer and a shot of liquor after I get off the phone with those idiots!

I love my Jeep too. I know I am sacrificing a lot to have a fun vehicle but it's worth it at this point in my life. Also, watching the Tacoma's, Land Cruiser's, Lexus', 4Runners, all attempt the same obstacle then winch up that I completed in one try with ease, I don't know if I'd want to go to something else.

If they make a JT with the Hurricane motor and it's in the $60k range, I'd consider that vehicle. It'd have be be lifted 4-5" with 38-39s to get the same capability my JLUR has with 2.5" on 37s, but, it'd be a better overlander.

The Diesel is the only engine I would have now with the 392 a maybe if I really wanted the horsepower. The 2.0 and the 3.6 are lackluster to for me. Our 21 diesel has been a pleasure to drive and wheel offroad. So far no electrical issues and EDT goes in every fuel stop. Diesels are expensive to maintain regardless and the cummins in my motorhome cost several thousand in routine maintenance each year. I may be proven wrong but I will not part with this jeep anytime soon. The prices are getting stupid anyway.

Honestly, I don't disagree with your decision.

Look at how they're dealing with any WELL KNOWN issues. Corrosion, Manual Transmissions, Pentastar 3.6, etc... The list goes on. Then when you try to warranty any problems. They try to weasel out of it and Stelantis drags things out until you're out of warranty.

When I went to the dealer on my first Jeep. They never called me back to fix corrosion issues after they took pictures. The second dealership took it in and flat out told me they didn't want to do the job. They had already given me a loaner and told me if I didn't turn the truck in the same day, that I would get charged a daily rate. They called me at 3pm and they closed at 5pm. The dealer also wasn't local.

I got rid of the first JL Wrangler with issues, got rid of the JT Gladiator with issues, and now have another JL Wrangler... No issues so far.

I don't mind the issues and I understand things happen. But when you get no support from the manufacturer OR the dealerships to stand behind their EXPENSIVE unreliable products. That's the problem.

If th Bronco was readily available. I would have bought it. It can't be any worse than Jeep service / reliability. It's worth a shot. If my current JL has issues / no support. I'll never buy another Stelantis product. 3rd time's the charm.
