Annoying rattling - sounds like it is coming from rear passenger side

Hi all, new JLU Rubicon (stock) with 1200 miles on it.

There sounds like a rattling coming from the rear passenger side, perhaps near the speaker bar... I can't track it down, well, because I'm driving when it happens. Anyone else had this happen / find a fix?

Perhaps not the same issue, although I had a popping sound that was determined to be an under torqued bolt on the passenger seat mounting post.

This sounds more like squeaky plastic

I’ve found that I’m not real good at determining the location of a rattle while driving.

My Jeep developed an intermittent rattle at about a month old. I was sure it was in the dash. Dealer couldn’t find it.

Then I read a thread on this forum where several people had rattling sun visors. I unclipped mine. Bingo. I’ve just left it unclipped since. No rattle.

Worth a shot.

Put some 3M Teflon tape along the upper edge of your tailgate that makes contact with your flip-up hatch rear-window’s rubber seals.

I had similar noise from the rear cargo area but mine was more like constant tacky noise.
Turns out it was the tail gate rubbing against the rubber of the rear window.
Thanks to @Arterius2, Teflone tape like in the picture solved the problem

I had an issue with a noise that came from the tailgate. Took it in to the dealer and they fixed it. Not sure exactly what it was but it definitely came from the tailgate.

I can ensure you once you worked hard to eliminate one "pop"/"rattle"/"squeak"/"creak"/"dang", there will be another one pop up if not louder.

At some point, you just need to accept this is a Jeep, and built like a truck. You will never achieve that inner tranquility like a Mercedes or Audi.

I was tinkering today with a trailer wire install
and made me think about your rattle. There is a plastic 10mm nut that holds the tail light from the inside. Maybe it’s loose? It’s a shot in the dark but you never know.

This. It took me a few months into my transition from an Xterra to a Jeep to realize that no matter what I did.. there were going to creaks/squeaks/rattles all the time. A year later they are still there.. but I don't really even notice them anymore.

On second thought, I’ll investigate find the problem and keep it to myself. Be a taker only. There is no benefit to sharing.

It’s that stupid plastic piece between the bar and the hardtop, I had it on both sides. It took me having my friend drive while i investigated. I put a piece of duck tape until I get a better solution going. People are ass hats. Hope this helps!
