Android Auto - Smartphone App Update Related

I updated to the latest Android Pixel 7 Pro security update last night. Plugged in the phone via USB-C today and it immediately worked!

The MA1, however, never connected. Oh well.

Try this:
Unplug the smartphone from the USB cable...

Reset the MA1. (see MA1 instr.)

Immediately after reset of the MA1 unplug the MA1 from the USB port.

Now, go into UConnect projection manager and delete the MA1 shown there.

Now, attach the smart phone with the USB cable to the USB port.... Wait a minute til you see Android Auto working...

Now, disconnect the USB cable and immediately/ plug the MA1 into the same port you disconnected the USB cable.

Hopefully you will see the MA1 setup.

Thanks, that did it! The only required tweak was that I had to re-pair the MA1 to my phone.

Good to hear you got-er done.

Yes, once resetting the MA1, and you reconnect, it it needs to be re paired.. a given..

If you aren't already doing so... Try to get into the habit of routinely clearing cache for apps, Android Auto, Google Play Services and Waze and Google Maps. From reports, doing this is a positive thing...

Waze update 4.92.0.0 installed on mine today. Coolwalkdud not come back. It also still fails when I say "navigate home". It reads my addess back, tries to find a route, then dusplays "location cannot be found".

I mentioned in a past post in this thread, that I lost CoolWalk in Waze on 2/8/23. It's still AOL. I do have CoolWalk with Google Maps so I'm good to go til Waze fixes the Coolwalk AOL, issue.

Anyway, I did update to Waze 4.92.0.0 today and still no CoolWalk .... but I can still say "OK Google" and then say "Navigate Home" and I hear Google voice say OKLAHOMA and then I get route displayed in Waze.

Today, I spent literally 1.5 hrs., sitting in my JL, setting up my new Samsung S23.
I had to get it paired up with UConnect, Amazon Echo Auto, AAWireless dongle, Blue Tooth Pedal Commander, JSCAN and OBD Bluetooth dongle..

Word is all over the internet that the S23 will not work with the S23 but I got-er done .... but it took a lot of time and the help of me knowing how to get-er done. End result my Samsung S23 is working well with all I mentioned earlier... A few more gray hairs I have but ... I'm pleased all is working...

I'm not going anywhere else today, so I'll see what this does tomorrow.

Did a 1200 mi., interstate road trip with my JL. Traveled all last night and into early today .... run was from Upstate NY to Vero Beach, Florida. I drive non-stop except for very brief in time, gas/piss/food stops..

Android Auto 9.0.130744 in use. Samsung S23 smartphone and the AAWireless dongle.

Anyway, through the whole 1200 mi., all night trip, the AAWireless dongle performed well... no issues at all.. Using Waze 4.92.0.0 and Google Maps 11.67.0701. No Coolwalk on Waze but Coolwalk was on Maps. Listened to / used XM and Spotify.

Yes, every say 6 hours, I plugged in the S23 to charge it's battery.

This is exactly how mine acts with the MA1 and S22. Hopefully Waze releases an update with Coolwalk fix soon.

Stoll no Coolwalk.

Where are you downloading 4.92.0.3 from. All I can find anywhere is Waze Navigation & Live Traffic 4.92.0.1 beta that became avail. on 2/19/23.

The Waze beta people are fairly adamant about avoiding mirrors like that. Yeah, that's how they previously distributed their betas, but not any more.

They may avoid mirrors but I get my Waze updates at APKMirror 95% of the time. This 4.92.0.3, I asked about would have been on APKMirror tomorrow. I wanted to get it today though.

As long as I get them somewhere.. 8-)
