I’ll post the work sheets when I get the Jeep back, they’re currently in the glove box.

The first issue which left me stranded was the Electronic Throttle Control, The replaces the ECU. The two other times have been check engine lights with the message seen in the photo.

I put 65 miles on it and had it towed. After fixing it the first time, the dealership only put 5 miles on. Once I got it back, the check engine light came after 40 miles or so and I continued to drive it about 20 miles and then drove it to the dealership. The dealership said they put another 100 after they cleared the code. The reason for the check engine this time was the brake/gas thing. They said it can happen when people drive with two feet and press both pedal simultaneously. I’ve never driven like that and I’ve babied this Jeep the few miles I have put on it.

Hope this makes it a little clearer, feel free to ask any questions.

The GM at the dealership that’s been working on my Jeep called the FCA Rep today and explained the situation. Then a few hours later the purchased from dealership called and said they spoke to the rep and the ball has started rolling to get me a new Jeep! It’s not promised yet, but I think that’s where we are headed.

If anyone has any issues, it seems contacting the FCA rep is the route to take. JeepCares is a waste of time. They literally have done nothing other than log my calls each time I call in.

Thanks for all the support here. Y’all have definitely made this situation more bearable. You guys are awesome.

What is the second screen saying (View details)? This sounds like a sticking sensor on the brake pedal, does this have that engine start stop option that I read about? If so perhaps this is the issue, but I would have thought that the dealer might have thought of this already, or another thought, this Jeep doesn't have that system installed but the ECM was programmed incorrectly so it thinks it does and throws a code when it doesn't see what it thinks it should be seeing... Sorry long shot but could be something incredibly stupid. (I was not a big fan of this new 'feature' when I heard about it and if I buy a new JL 2 door that will likely be the first thing I have disabled).

In terms of the issues you have had with FCA and the dealer, that is disgusting. It would certainly make me think twice about buying a JL especially when there is little to no discount on these vehicles vs say the Ram pickups which we were seeing blown out between 25 and 30% off MSRP up here.

At this point you might as well ride the brake and gas and throw another code for the 4th strike.

So the FCA rep got involved and got the ball rolling towards a replacement after the third trip to the shop. Took them 11 days total to fix it the third time. Mostly because of waiting on a part. The Jeep was in he shop 24 if it’s first 26 days of ownership.

Their rules are they will give me MSRP of mine towards MSRP of a new one. I’m concerned about the price increase ive heard about. I’ve sent the paperwork to a lemon lawyer to review and make sure I’m not owned anything more than what they’re offering. They want me to come in tomorrow and select/order a new Rubicon. I’ll get to drive my repaired one until the new one comes in.

So what part did they replace and did it actually fix the problem? What was actually wrong with it?

And do I understand you correctly that they are still going to give you a new one?

Sounds like it is going work out okay, though you should get something (imho) for all the hassle you’ve been through.

Maybe they can make sure you’ll get off-road pages on the new one. (Fat chance.).

I hope you’ll love your new Rubicon.

So I've tried to order the exact same Jeep as a replacement, they want to give me MSRP of mine towards MSRP of a new one. However, since the price increases, the same Jeep is now $750 more, and they are being jerks about, saying those are the rules. Really @JeepCares . I'm about to go the lemon law route and tell them to buy it back and suck it. These jerks are really making me not want a Jeep anymore.

Sigh. 99% of dealers give the other 1% a bad name.

Look at what this "customer service rep" wrote in an email. He clearly doesn't give a damn about customers.

Matt,

The customer is responsible for any MSRP increase and they have been made aware of that. So I don’t see a problem with it.

Thank you.
