I love my stock Sport Altitude wheels. I just upgraded to Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs (LT275/70R18).

My dealer says that a Mopar 2'' lift requires that I add wheel spacers so that I can clear the rear sway bar. Is this accurate? I want to run 35x10.5x17 on stock Willys wheels.

Anyone tried these vinyl overlays? I ordered a set. I got tired of the flat black Plastidip, it made my Jeep look old to me. I think it was just too much flat black and Sting Gray.

Gimme some Opinions Folks...
In my case, I have a '20 Sport S, and I like the stock wheels, but would like to go with 33's, and see how that does. Eventually, I'd like to go to 35", but then I'd have to do a lift (I think?). Has anybody put the Rubicon Fenders on a Sport S and do you still need a lift with them?

The problem with 35's is that we need wheel spacers so the tires don't hit any of the suspension parts. For articulation, you just need rubicon fenders with rubicon suspension.

This is 34's with rubicon suspension (285/75r17)

I'm running 315s identical to 35x12.5x17 on the Mopar with no spacers. No issue with rubbing.

Actually, I'm running 35s just fine on my Sahara and stock wheels and no wheel spacers.

What width tires?
285/75R18, now before anyone start nitpicking that its not a 12.5". Well, it doesn't have to be 12.5", and no one is forcing anyone onto 12.5" either. Pick the tire that suits your needs, especially for Sport/Sahara models with narrower axles & fender while on a budget. Since I don't think you even off-road so it probably doesn't even matter.

It looks and performs great and I like to keep money in my pockets. I saved thousands of dollars going this route, bypassing wheel spacers and/or aftermarket wheels and all sorts of convoluted reinforcement otherwise. And all that saved money that I could spend on whatever. Like steel bumper & winch etc.

I picked these up for $250 each and they're just about perfect for what I do. And I do some moderately serious trails too. They keep the tires within the fender, don't toss rocks at my door & hinge. Other than being the best winter performance tires I've used, they are also the lightest 35s -- at only 60lbs, which is what some 33s and 34s weigh, so I retain almost stock acceleration and mileage, I often see 7-8th gear and 21-24mpg on the highway.

So, again, no reason to pigeonhole yourself into some complicated & expensive mess for no perceived advantage.

Did you swap your 285/70’s for 285/75’s? I was researching tire size posts a couple months ago before buying my tires and saw a few of your posts with pics of 285/70’s. I ditched my 285/70’s and upsized to 285/75’s as well. Would have gone for 35’s, but a JLUS w/6MT was already a turd with 32’s. No issues around town, but throw in a few passengers on the slightest of grades on an interstate and you’ll wear out your right arm.

I never had 285/70's, I was probably contemplating or trying to figure out what's the biggest I can fit myself.

Jeep gladiator(8.5" width) wheels work great w/ 315bfg(35's). I put them on my wife's new JL through my dealer at setup. Only cost an extra $500 after selling off stock setup. It rides fantastic also.. no lift

That's the exact tire width I'm looking for. Don't want the tires sticking out cuz da Po-Po here don't go for that. What brand of tire you running?
