Granted I didn’t price the DPF injector or any of the DEF stuff, but that’s ~$2k. The belly $2.2k (aluminum one). That’s a tough sell for me. Are the aluminum ones pretty tough? I feel like steel is the right path but the weight is a lot.

I am debating coming up with my own. I would use aluminum as an excuse to play with a new to me tig and spool gun.

Cool, thanks for the heads up about artec. In most cases I find I hate belly pans, just another thing in the way. I want to wait a bit and see if aluminum prices drop a bit.

I asked them after I got my JLURD and they said they had no plans. Maybe that will change.

I don't think so but there is a diesel JL in Eurozone just not a 3.0.

I just received word that my order for aluminum belly pans from Next Venture Motorsport are delayed for 3 weeks because they were hit with a COVID outbreak at their facility.

I cannot say much about belly pans in particular, but in terms of steel (iron+carbon) vs aluminum, in general steel is stronger/tougher than aluminum and aluminum is much lighter and more malleable than steel.

But this is a generalization as there are countless variations in the composition and methods of production with both steel and aluminum products.

Next Venture Motorsport Aluminum belly pans are now installed. I opted for the UHMW feature, so the net weight increase ended up at ~80 lbs.
