I am receiving my 2022 Sport S Wrangler in the next week or two. It has the 3.45 top gear ratio and stock 17" x 7.5" Silver aluminum wheels with 245/75R17 All Season tires. I don't really want to do a lift at this point (maybe down the road), but would like some beefier all terrain tires. I'm okay with adjusting the speedometer, but I don't want to go so crazy as to have to modify a lot of things to regain the original factory ride quality. I've been told that it's a good idea to find someone selling the 33's off of their Rubicon, but I'm not sure if those tires will line up with my current stock setup without a lot of modification. Bit of a newbie to the tire world.

Looking for any advice. Thanks in advance!

BFG KO2 has got to be the standard by which all other all-terrains are measured.

This is my go-to source to find out what the top tires in any category are in any given moment. Here’s the link for all-terrains: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=ORAT

I’ve been very happy with KO2s. At the suggestion of the ratings above, this time I got General Grabber A/TXs; I am very happy with them as well.

Caution - newly introduced tires rise to the top of the ratings for no other reason that everyone is still in the honeymoon period. I find that any tire with over 1 million accumulated miles (far right column) normally indicates there’s sufficient data to provide an accurate rating.

Good luck.

I’ve been running Toyo AT3’s 285/75r17 (step up in size from 285/70r17) on a stock no lift JLUW. Excellent tire in dry and wet - haven’t had any snow yet. I know someone on here had a stock sport s with the silver wheels and put on BFG K02’s in the 75 size. Shouldn’t have an issue with either choice (spare clears the tailgate).

Very happy with my tire selection, also run toyo's proxes st III on my 4runner, good tires for the $

That said if you can get Rubicon take offs for a good price, that's a good choice too.

I put Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/75/R17 on my stock Sport S wheels. I installed take off Rubicon springs and shocks shortly after, but had no rubbing or other issues on road at stock ride height. Very quiet and comfortable with load range C. The spare didn’t want to fit so I heated up the bumper and pressed in on the area it was rubbing on. Before and after lift:

255/75R17 KO2s. They are 32s. Didn’t want to go the 33 route as they are a bit wider. I love the way these look. Wheels are quadratec morphic 8.5x17. Willys/Moab lookalike. Wheels offset is a bit different than stock. I like a little poke out. Nothing too extreme.

Stock Rubi take offs with KO2’s will work great-straight bolt on. Reasonable prices on this forum if you’re willing to wait/shop

I'd go as small as possible while giving you the look or performance you want. I'd probably go 255/75 or 265/70 depending on load rating.

Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.
