Did some digging for an all in one antenna mount for the Rough Country Relocation Bracket, to my surprise, nothing existed for what I wanted. So off to the hardware store I went.
Picked up a 3ft piece of 1.25in angle steel bar from Lowe's and grinder from Harbor Freight... made a template and got to work.
Marked out all the holes for each mount.
Now on to the spare tire carrier. Removed the Rough Country Relocation Bracket and buzzed off the two top nuts that are welded on.
Reattached the the spare tire bracket and spare tire holder, using the top two holes to mount the all in one mount flush to the carrier. (you will need 1/4 inch longer bolts with 2 washers to secure the mount... sorry did not take a pic of that step) I added a third hole in the center, this acts as a ground and more stability for the mount.
Next comes the hole in the third brake light mount, to allow room for the quarter inch Whip Flag to drop straight in.
I used a Red Head 3/8 inch diameter sleeve anchor and cut it down to size. I glued this in place, this will reinforce the third brake light mount and keep the flag from bouncing up against either of the two antennas.
Last was the test fit for the flag.
Final side view pics of everything installed, with plenty of room all the way around.
That's it folks.
Just waiting for the Midland Micromobile radio to arrive. You can never have enough communications, I'm I right, I'm I right... I'm right.
