Air Pressure for 35” BFG AT KO2

I am running 35” BFG AT KO2 (35x12.5r17 load E). The tire says to run it at 65psi cold but that makes for a very rough ride on and off road.

What is the best pressure to run it on highway?

The 65 on the side is max pressure. Waaaaay too much to run on the street on a Jeep. I would try 28-30psi on road, 15-20psi off-road.

Like your tires, my 35x12.5's KM3's are also E rated, and state 65psi cold, max. However, I don't run my tires anywhere near that pressure, to your point it's way to firm. I'm typically at 33-36psi on the street, and air down to about 12-14psi offroad, FWIW.

I've safely run down to 11-12 psi, and I've heard of others going lower without bead locking rims, but I'm perfectly content with the 12-14 range for most/any offroad surfaces.

35s are generally LT tires (light truck) for the best wear, run 40psi.

This was advice from my buddy that owns a shop and is a ASE/Toyota/Lexus Master Certified tech.

65 psi is the max pressure to withstand the max rated weight likely around 2500-3000 lbs per tire or a 10-12k lb truck.
PSI required for best economy and tire wear is relative/dependent on vehicle weight. I have 305/65 tires and run at around 32-34 cold. When they warm up they should increase in psi about 10% or 3-4 psi. If the pressure increases more than that... they are heating up to much from under inflation. If ride comfort is the top priority experiment with watching the PSI range from cold to hot. If MPG is priority add 3-4 psi or in-between for best wear and economy. You can tell the difference between a few pounds........wandering is noticed if to soft or to hard in my experience anyway.

I run my 315s at 29lbs. I have them on stock Rubi wheels though.
