I’m interested in changing the wheels on my 23 Rubicon and I came across the AEV Borah Wheels (17x8.5 wheels with 5.72in backspace (+25mm offset)). My question is, can I run these wheels with 35’ tires (looking at Mickeys baja boss AT) on a stock Rubicon? Or would it put stress on the ball joints, suspension, etc. thanks

You don't have to start worrying until you mount 37s. I've got the same wheels/tires as you do. Here's how it looked pre-lift:

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Nice wheel choice, much less to worry about w/ that +25 offset vs some of the offsets in the negative range as far as putting stress on parts. And the stock ball joint design is the main stress on them unfortunately :( Just plan on changing them out eventually w/ something built for the long haul.

I've seen different opinions regarding 35's on a stock JL Rubicon. Some say fine, others say extreme offroad conditions will result in fenders being torn off. Maybe the question is how extreme?

Could always do a fender chop if you are really cranking it out!
