Finally, all the parts needed are available for a clean stereo install:

JVC KW-M750BT

http://www.us.jvc.com/car/multimedia/kw_m750bt/

iDatalink Maestro RR and CH3 harness

https://maestro.idatalink.com/product/product/product_id/102

Metra 107-CH3B

http://metraonline.com/part/107-CH3B

Metra 40-EU10 Antenna Adapter

http://metraonline.com/part/40-EU10

If you've ever installed a car stereo then it's pretty straightforward. Here are a couple of notes to consider:
  • The space in the stereo compartment is super limited. The JVC unit, Maestro unit, and harness just barely fit. There are only a very few shallow-depth units that will fit (Kenwood DMX7706S is another one).
  • The only tricky part is plugging into the Jeep CANBUS but the Maestro has good instructions.
  • As far as I can tell, all the Jeep menus and features are retained except for one major one:
  • The stock Jeep rearview camera is not compatible. You have to install another camera and run a wire or find a suitable adapter.

FINALLY!!! Where did you get the trim kit? Not seeing it anywhere except for eBay right now, might wait until it is available on Crutchfield just to be safe.

Can you drop a link to the ebay one?? I'm desperately searching for an option after ordering the radio on a late night amazon binge.

Looks Great! Planing on something similar. What camera did you get to replace the existing and was it easy to run the rca video cable to the head-unit
Thanks

Was the install pretty straight forward? I'm looking at the Kenwood one. Shop wanted about 8-900 for the Kenwood, datalink, bracket, install.

I have not installed any other camera yet but just about any $8 camera on eBay will work with this unit.

The Kenwood is almost identical to the JVC (they are the same company now). You can do it yourself very easily. I did all the wiring connections at my desk. When you get to the Jeep it's just a bunch of plugs and took less that 30 minutes.

Awesome! I bought the dash kit on Ebay myself.....Haven't even selected a head unit yet!

What about the factory usb and aux ports? Does the Maestro solve that issue?

Nice job! It looks like you had the OEM 5” screen? Does anyone know if the OEM volume knob with the 7” and 8.5” screen still works with the aftermarket unit? I believe the Maestro adapter retains the steering wheel controls?

The Maestro is supposed to take care of the aux input but I've yet to try that out. It does not take care of the USB ports but you can plug a USB directly into the head unit.

My JVC unit only has one USB input and it won't accept a USB hub which is what the Jeep has. So instead of plugging the USB directly from the back of the stock head unit, I connected only the USB coming from the center armrest console. You have to unplug it from the hub in the dash and use an adapter:

Yes, the Maestro keeps all steering wheel controls. I'm almost sure it'll also keep the volume knob control as well. You'll even be able to control your A/C, heater, defogger from the head unit.

Looks good. Can you give me some insight on the canbus plugs? I see the canbus block, but I am not sure exactly which ones to plug in where. TIA

You have to unplug the one with YELLOW and YELLOW/BROWN leads. On mine, it was the third plug from the right on the rear bank of the green block. It should be the same on all JLs but who knows? Plug the Maestro harness in there and plug the one you removed into the Maestro harness to complete the loop.
