Well this thread has convinced me to add the Proximity unlock to my order.

Has anyone regretted not getting the reinforced rear tailgate? It's $675... One thing I hated about my FJ Cruiser is the rear door rattled.

It came with ours, and has been solid for three trail runs. No rattles whatsoever.

I haven't had any rattle at all in +3500 miles, 2000 of those miles are with a 35" tire on the back. That's something you can always add later.

Yes, get the proximity unlock. That's $500 very well spent.

You can get that online for much cheaper. Wouldn’t worry about it.

Good call on the Proximity locks. It's the one option you will use repeatedly very single day. It is also one option that is extremely difficult to add later.

You can add the tailgate later without much issues if you decide you want it.

When I decided to buy new instead of used I sat down, and built the Jeep the way I wanted sans the proximity locks. Surprisingly I found the Jeep that I built on a dealers lot 20 miles from home. One difference was it also had the proximity locks. I'm glad, 'cause I would have been so pissed at myself for not adding them to an ordered Jeep. As it stands the only thing I wanted it didn't have is a headliner, and I remedied that with a HotHead liner. So, I be good to go. :)

I only got three options: LEDs, steel bumpers and the body-colored fenders.

The only minor regret is not getting the alpine stereo because the stock speakers kinda suck when the doors are off.

Proximity key? Couldn’t care less... I usually don’t lock the jeep anyway. I hate ACC so don’t regret not getting that. Safety package? Don’t care. Tow package? My wife’s 4R has that and can tow more. Cold weather package? I live in TX.

I REGRET NOHING!

ACC/Front collision warning-auto braking. This wasn't and option on the Sport S when I ordered in March of 19. Of course less than a month after I take delivery, its an option on the Sport S.:angry:

Well, I guess we know who does the towing in your family. (j/k)

The Tow Package comes with the HD Electrical group. How can you not ragret that?

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Anti-spin rear diff. Will be upset about this as long as I own it, not only did I not get the huge upgrade of a Dana 44 w/ the better A/T tires vs. the smaller open diff Dana 35 and soccer-mom All Season Michelins :(

Haha, well that is true in the literal sense. She’s only ever towed anything one time and it was when she moved from GA to TX by herself while I was deployed. She pulled a U-Haul full of stuff. She’s a strong woman so it makes sense that her vehicle is a good ol’ traditional BOF SUV.

Like I said, I regret “nohing!” I don’t know, I just like the jeep how it is. I plan on keeping it stock for a long time.

I was too impatient to order EXACTLY what I wanted, so I took a stock Sport S Unlimited off the lot. Options I wish I had the patience to order:
- Dual Tops (purchased)
- Trailer Hitch (for bike rack and shelf - next month)
- Gas Cap Door

I do have Prox locks and the 7" touchscreen.

Of course now I'm almost wishing I got a 2-door Rubicon in Mojito...
