Just checked with the AEV guys in their SEMA booth and they still expect first products to launch early 2020.

Seems like I heard that before from them. You’d think they would have figured that out in the past year.Dave said in an interview from Monday they’re having issues with the new high strength steel they’re using with processing it and getting the coating right. But stubby bumper has been approved for production.
I agree. If not, then someone out there will be selling a relocation kit somewhere.Maybe I'm oversimplifying what may be more complex than I realize but seems like they should be able to engineer a relocation kit to move the camera to the bull bar on the bumper?
I mounted a front camera in my licence plate.I agree. If not, then someone out there will be selling a relocation kit somewhere.
These have nothing to do with crash absorption. They are on the Sport model plastic bumpers. Those bumper guards are called crush cans. They help absorb and dissipate some of the energy before it gets transferred to the frame in a direct hit. The JL oem steel bumper has them. There is a reason to have them. They have done their research. Besides, US is not the only place they sell their products. So, it’s cheaper to have similar manufacturing for all countries instead of customizing per country.
LOL. I thought you were talking about these. Sorry, I misunderstood. These have nothing to do with crash absorption. They are on the Sport model plastic bumpers.
Plus, Epstein didn’t kill himself...
Radiator issues or not, I also prefer the Mopar setup better (and I'm biased as I'm literally running the same winch, lights, and bar). Plus, I gotta give it to Jeep for the front steel bumper. It's really solid. I've knocked chunks out of rocks and trees with the detachable corners and it's barely taken paint off. The steel rear bumper is absolutely useless, though, so I'd like to eventually upgrade to the AEV one when it comes out next decade. Why do you think the Mopar stuff are so low profile if they didn’t go through rigorous testing? Let’s see how Mopar addresses this issue vs..
AEV Bumper for JK had them also. These have nothing to do with crash absorption. They are on the Sport model plastic bumpers.

Good thing next decade starts in 7-8 weeks. You’re right though, I don’t think a single person who has watched the glacial pace of AEV product development is holding their breath for a Jan/Feb release of any AEV bumper. The steel rear bumper is absolutely useless, though, so I'd like to eventually upgrade to the AEV one when it comes out next decade.
Yes, but AEV did not offer a stubby bumper version, now they do, so that is not going to be relevant when getting the stubby version.AEV Bumper for JK had them also.
I already bought the Mopar lights after giving up on AEV bumpers. Still, I do still think their rear bumper is the best I’ve seen out there.Yes, but AEV did not offer a stubby bumper version, now they do, so that is not going to be relevant when getting the stubby version.
I'm wondering what AEV has to stay about the airflow into the grille?
Can you share the details of the setup? Front plate not required here, but could mount somewhere similar. I was holding out for the Mopar Trail Cam, but radio silence on if / when it will be available to purchase for JLI mounted a front camera in my licence plate.
