At the end of the day, we are all on the same USS WTF-AEV boat and we'll all share this boat until the damn bumpers come out  - curse you AEV for making such high quality products that we can't say no to! Hahah :CWL:

Is what it is, right?

The wait continues....:(

SEMA 2019 soon, I would love if the rear bumper is out by then since it was shown at SEMA 2018. however even if by end of year I'll be happy. much longer and I'll have to look into my backup choices as I plan to have my build done before spring.

Q1 2020 looks like the ballpark coming out of AEV for both bumpers. Take that with a brick of salt.

From the aev forum...sounds like there will be a common central segment of the front bumper with variable side segments for different fender configurations. Potentially a lighter weight variant in the future too, but who knows.

I get what they're doing and I respect it.

Having said that...my short rant begins...and yes i'm anxiously awaiting it and crying about having to wait...since April 2018 for these bumpers.

If you want to innovate and make something "better", fine, i'm okay with that. But just put a bumper out with the metal you used on the JK's for now - that will be just fine for pretty much everyone looking to buy them. I mean, if they come out with a bumper now that uses the same metal that was used on the JK and it happens to be 50 lbs heavier than a "new" metal material they're playing with and trying to perfect - and it won't be done until Q1 of 2020, then i'll take the slightly heavier bumper now - and ic an only imagine now the price they'll charge for this newly invented metal that they're trying to perfect.

Did they have such issues and terrible crash ratings that they need to innovate for something better? If so, then okay i get it. If not, then put together a bumper that we can get now with the metal used for the JK's...as those have been out forever and were pretty damn successful. In the mean time, play with the metal mixtures all you want in R&D while you try create a new material to use. Once you perfect it, simply mold it to the design of the bumper that you made using the older material.

That way they can innovate all they want and at the same time keep consumers happy. Right now i feel they're losing JL customers doing all of this, not to mention the check they got from Chevrolet for the Bison must have been pretty damn good to have focused so much on that and the JL was literally put to the back burner for quite a long time.

Again I love AEV stuff, it's great and super high quality and the wait is what it is. Just ranting to rant.

Happy Saturday!

It’s one thing to test the bumpers crash rating it’s another to get a die adjusted in a timely fashion and stamp more test parts.

I’m having Deja Vu

Which has pretty much been their business practice since the beginning.

Which is their prerogative, though I do wonder how many vendors at SEMA bring parts that are 18 months from coming to market.

Well I wonder what they are going to show at SEMA next week that we'll have to wait forever for?

I agree AEV waiting so long all the other manufactures have there stuff out and AEV is still catching up :movember: it makes you think there are only so many JL owners that want aftermarket bumpers and a lot of them have them already.

Well, they are on pace to sell about 260,000 JL's alone, not counting JT's, for 2019. That's creating the biggest Jeep accessory market AEV or anyone else has ever seen. While I'm surprised at their slow pace, it honestly probably won't hurt them as badly as it would have when the JK first rolled out.
