AEV JL 2.5 Dualsport RT on an eco diesel

Has anyone installed the AEV 2.5 on an eco diesel? If so, are spacers needed?

I am sure there are a number here that have. Mine is sitting in my garage and will be installed next weekend when I get back into town! I will be curious how it handles all of the additional weight I have on the vehicle - gobi rack, tent, swing out bumper, rocksliders etc.

What do you mean by spacers??? For what? I’ve got it on mine and did it myself so I’m familiar with the lift kit.

I’ve attached their instructions. That should help you.

Fricken amazingly!!!! My Jeep weighs 7040 lbs loaded. Gas, water, food, etc. but this is without the family on board. Zero, snd I do mean ZERO issues. The suspension truly ROCKS!!!!!

I did not install the spacers on ours when I installed the aev lift. I will tell you that the upper control arm bolt on the passenger side is a challenge to get out due to the diesels exhaust but it will come out.

The only spacers supplied and used for the Diesel setup are the Bumpstops! Spring Shims aren't even used on the Diesel.

Well I don’t like assuming anything. He didn’t say shims. And there are spacers in the kit. Maybe he’ll pipe in and set the question straight

man you got some weight on that Jeep. I am 6700 so hope it handles the weight fine. How do you feel about the brakes? I feel like they are getting a little overloaded.

Some lift kits recommend a spacer on top of spring to make up for the extra weight up front on the 3.0. An example "MC", read it on the "Lift Kit" thread.

The AEV’s are designed for the weight. It’s a proven system for sure.

man you got some weight on that Jeep. I am 6700 so hope it handles the weight fine. How do you feel about the brakes? I feel like they are getting a little overloaded.

I feel like they’re fine. When I tow about 2500 lbs with my Jeep loaded I’m just careful. Normal driving around they’re fine.

Ive had my AEV 2.5 lift on for about 2 months now couldn't be happier. Rides good handles weight and just plain looks good. Been off road a bit handles all the bumps and whoops with ease. I would definitely recommend this lift. I also added the Mopar extended LCA‘s. My only complaint is the directions leave a lot to be desired. Nothing a few beer breaks couldn't fix.
