Holy cow, it’s incredible we can fit 37’s and flex like that! My mind is still in the YJ era when I had a 4” lift and barely fit 33’s with the stock fenders. Thanks for the info. I should definitely be good with my 35” combo!
The fenders on the JL are much better. In that photo it isn’t even fully flexed either. It has more. You will be plenty fine with 35s for sure. I know most get 35s and wish they went 37s so just keep that in mind!

I went with 35x12.50 because my jeep is an every day vehicle. you will have no issues.

Yeah, I hear ya…my Jeep is still in production but I already have my new 35’s. I’m already kind of wishing I went 37’s! 😂

Looks fantastic! Do you have a 2” lift for it?

Well - after a marathon weekend (18+ hour on the first day, 8+ on the second - we ran in to several issues) - my buddies and I finished (for now) all the mods to my Willys that finally arrived the week before. Some before and after pics:

BTW - the AEV 2.5" lift, even with my bumpers, winch and sliders - is still WAY more than 2.5" - almost making me question if they sent the correct springs. Guessing it will settle some. Ill measure again after a month or so, but without the bumpers/sliders - I saw nearly 5" difference in height to the bottom of the fenders. Bumpers settled it maybe .5" to .75" so far. I do realize that the bigger tires are accounting for some of that difference.

For comparison - my other Willys next to the new one has similar bumpers/sliders and a 2.5" Teraflex lift + 0.75" spring spacers.

Just curious...did you have trouble tightening the lower control arm bolts to 190 ft/pounds of torque? I'm in the process of installing the AEV lift and I'm at the point where I need to torque the bolts to the proper specifications .

Yep. The fact that it was on the ground with us lying under it combined with how tired we were definitely made it not fun! Some of them required both of us with a hand on the wrench due to the awkward angle. My lifting partner, who was helping me, is stronger than me in presses so was able to torque the ones where he could get into a pressing position (i.e. bench press).

Jumping into this long thread. Ordering this AEV lift. Those debating the 35s vs 37s it seems like the factory built AEV package has 37s automatically on the 2.5 lift so I don’t think it’s an issue unless you’re looking for better mpg and better ride quality with 35s

Any concern with upgrading drive shaft or axles? Will be getting the JL Rubicon soon…if I can find one under MSRP

I just installed the same lift AEV 2.5. It does sit a lot taller than the 2.5 inches. Mine sits 6'5 inch's from level ground to the top of the cab. It sits tall.

I did also add the Bilstein Steering damper also. It does have a little pull to the right side. Per the team at the dealership only way to fix that is to go back to stock damper? Anyone have any fixes on the right side pulling due to the steering damper install?

Other than that she drives amazing and I am very happy with the on road drive and over feel of the lift. Tires are 35 inch BFG KO2's AT.
