1 piece alien shade for me and I am at 6 ft. My head just barly skims the shade. After the first use i said to my self i should have done this sooner. However the alien shade is tough to get to the latches for the freedom panels in the center area. Maybe the other shades have better access to flip the levers. FWIW

I hadn’t heard that about the Alien shade, thanks for the info!

Looking forward to warmer days in a few months to roll around naked again. For the actual process of getting naked, in April I built an electric winch powered hard top lift in my garage, works great. Cost about $400 for all the parts on Amazon and at Home Depot (including the winch) and took half a day to install. Parts list below:
-2x 2x6s
-About a dozen very large lag bolts to mount everything into the ceiling
-2x 50’ 3/8” 310 lb nylon rope
-2x ratchet straps (to attach to the rope to lift the hard top)
-6x zinc rope clamp set (to make the eyelets)
-4x lag bolts with eye hole
-4x M25 single pulley
-4x 3/8inch wall pulleys
-4x stainless steel spring link
-1x 440 lb electric hoist
-1x 2’ x 1 5/8” unistrut to mount hoist to wall

That’s the exact spiderweb package I’m thinking of, including color! Think it would look great on my sting gray. Your Jeep looks awesome! Thanks for the picture, gives me a great visual!
Thanks, I'm 6ft and have no issues with headroom.

Safest long term storage for the freedom panels is putting them back on the vehicle.
Take the time to capture the 4 front bungee s on the 4 windshield bolts instead of using the S clips if you go with Alien. Otherwise it is a good product.

Thanks for the options, have not seen those foot pegs. You're the second person to suggest raingear so definitely looking into those.

That is a great set up and sweet looking Jeep!!
I did a DIY set up using rachet straps for my hard top under my carport but definitely bookmarking this post for the future, thanks!
What hangers are those for your doors? Do you like them? Been looking for something to hold my doors.

Yeah, my panels are either on my Jeep or in the storage bag in my house.
Thanks for the tip on the Alien shade, I'll keep that in mind if I go with Alien.

Does anybody run sunshades with a soft top? I'm probably going to run safari mode most of the time, but I'd like to have some sun protection when going completely topless.
