Is this really worth the value on a manual build? I have it on a Durango, and is fantastic for long trips to reduce driver fatigue. I'm not confident its effective for a 2dr manual build due to the shifting involved.

The manual requires constant shifting on the interstate. Any little 1% grade and you’ll be downshifting. The gearing is really dumb. So my answer to your question is: not worth it.

You also get much more expensive windshield replacements with the sensor array.

Initially I didn't want it, but I wanted the auto high beams which was part of the package and forces the basic safety package. I ended up getting it and although I don't use it all the time, I love the auto high beams. If I were to do it again I'd get it for the auto high beams. Granted I have an autotragic...

Why would you get a manual if you know the effects of driver fatigue?

The cross path detection has been something that has been useful when I least expect it.
And that's a good thing.

I have the Advanced Safety group (with an automatic), and I'm not that impressed with it. If you live near an urban center like I do, there are rarely any instances where you can use your high beams, so it's constantly flicking on and off. So I keep that turned off. The ACC could be nice on a highway trip, but as has been noted, it can't do the shifting, which kind of defeats the purpose in a manual. Also, it does not include any lane centering technology, it's simply acceleration and braking.

I would recommend you pass.

I don't have it but I recall reading on this forum that the cruise will resume automatically when you shift. That is not the case with standard CC.

I have an Unlimited Rubicon with manual and adaptive cruise and love it. I haven't had any issues with hills and having to down shift if i am going 65+. If you do have to down shift it does not cancel the cruise between shifts. I have even used it in town.

I never realized it until I got that loaded suv a few years back. By all means, its seriously doable. We all know its fun to row.
