Hello,

Has anyone attempted to add a winch to a Stock Rubicon Plastic Bumper? (not the steel bumper).

Just seeing if this can be done, if so how? Photos if you have any would be great!

Thank you,

Besides Tobyw's awesome mod, you could potentially get a Warn wench plate that is designed for the JL and use that. However you would need to buy 4 mopar rivnuts that are normally used to mount the Rubicon's steel skid plate and use them for mounting the winch plate. You would also have to cut the bumper as TobyW did. After that the only mod needed is to drill some holes in the lower air dam to allow for allowing it's mounting with the existing 8mm bolts.

So has anyone tried this with the warn winch mount yet? I noticed the warn plate sticks forward of the 8 mounting bolts I assume to meet up the metal bumper. It looks like the metal plate in my '20 rubicon plastic bumper is flush across the front of the 8 bolts and frame rail mounts. so it would require cutting out a lot of that metal plate.
