Excellent point. On my wife's Mercedes you have no cruise at all when the adaptive cruise sensors get covered with snow.
Well that explains why she wants to trade it in for a Jeep……. Unless, of course, she wants the far superior Jeep dealer experience. ?

Being babied by Mercedes is pretty compelling. You make an appointment. They drive a vehicle to your house, leaving it for you. Then they bring yours back when it's (quickly) done.

Just like Jeep, eh?

Frankly if Jeep offered the service I would turn it down considering who they would hire to shuttle them….. I have been known to tell them to get in and take them for the test drive. Yea, maybe

Honestly, since 1995 I have typically been able to find one good trustworthy service writer as they come and go.

I tested the ACC on my 2024 Rubicon X and it works pretty good although I really never use it. I think a great time to use it would be while driving in heavy fog, but not sure it would work under those conditions.

Yes, I realize that jeep.com's builder is notoriously wrong, but is the apparent lack of Adaptive Cruise there really an indication that it's not available?

My wife is attempting to build a 2-door in Bikini Pearl. Bikini Pearl apparently went away a month or so ago.

Yeah, yeah, I'll eventually get in touch with a dealer on that asshole Ratbert's spreadsheet and spec it out, but at this point I'm just looking for feedback on Adaptive Cruise along with whatever else might be out of whack on jeep.com.
I would have helped and explained it but your "asshole" comment was uncalled for... so I will ignore this post!

Not sure if this is sarcasm, but @Ratbert was talking about himself, as he is the one who started the thread and was making a joke.

They would be doing us a favor if they got rid of it. I hate my adaptive cruise in the Wrangler and the added cost for calibration when replacing the windshield adds to it not being worth it. Also, when the sensors go bad after the warranty period, prepare to bend over. My friend's adaptive cruise/collision warning malfunctioned and took out her transmission.

Are your ears too delicate for such language, especially when it was self-deprecating?

I'm assuming you're joking. Unless, of course, you actually know someone gullible enough to pay for calibrating it. Note that it's not connected to the window.

I'd also be interested in the details behind ACC taking out someone's transmission!

No jokes. Here in CA (and I wouldn't doubt other places as well) windshield companies are required to check the calibration of adaptive cruise sensors whenever the glass is replaced. Eventhoughthe sensors on a Wrangler don't even touch the glass, $800 is added to the windshield replacement price to "check it." Copy of quote below for a 2021 JLUR with adaptive cruise.

If you want to know more about the ACC and the transmission, reach out to @jeepetaa on Instagram. It was her Jeep and she can give you the details and maybe even the workorder.

The wrangler ACC sensor is not mounted to the windshield so there is no reason to recalibrate.

I am aware of that. When I tried to tell the windshield company that, they said that the reason is that the thickness of the glass can vary as well as the the thickness of the windshield glue. I am not sure if that actually makes a difference but at the end of the day, apparently for liability reasons they have to recalibrate on anything that has adaptive cruise/collision warning.

An alternative reason could be that they want to charge $$$$ for additional work.

The awesome thing about Mopar ACC is the fact you have 2 options on how to use it. Standard mode and Adaptive cruise mode. I really like it on longer road trips or while towing. I even added ACC to my TRX. A lot of other manufactures don't have both options if the vehicle is equip with ACC
Works great on convoys to the trail head in a group ride too. Seems that we are always inchworming along on the trip to the trail head.

Could be but every windshield company that I reached out to had the same story/requirement. It might just be a CA CYA thing. When it comes to the paragraph below, glass companies don't want the finger pointed at them. Either way, it happened in real life and is now one of the many things on my con side of the pro/con list of adaptive cruise in the Wrangler.

Liability and Insurance Implications
If a vehicle is involved in an accident and it’s discovered that the windshield was replaced without proper calibration, it could have legal implications. Insurance companies may refuse to cover damages, arguing that the car was not maintained to the necessary safety standards. Furthermore, in the event of an accident caused due to ADAS malfunction from uncalibrated sensors, the vehicle owner might be held more liable than they would have been otherwise.
