I think in the end Bronco will be a successful product. I’m thinking 125,000 - 150,000 units/year. Similar to the 4 Runner.

it looks good, has the rugged/fun quality people like about the Wrangler, and is credible for moderate off-roading.

I agree. My point is, many of those people leaving Bronco in frustration over these few months will be swearing off Ford for a long time.

The average buyer comes to market every 5-7 years. Even if they avoid Ford only for their next 1 or 2 purchases, that’s still a very long time for Ford.

And the deeper the animosity, the longer they will stay away.

Also, dealers, all dealers, not just Ford’s, usually pay more attention to other dealers than to their own customers.

So, while adding markups and playing games may seem perfectly acceptable because “this is a free market” and “that’s what everyone is doing,” they are generating resentment among its customers. And, unlike dealers who might confine such practices only to Bronco, customers have long memories and many are not going to confine their resentment “just to Bronco.”

This past Saturday drove a 2021 Bronco Sasquatch with black Diamond trim package for a few hours. Visually impressive at first sight. Loved the marine grade vinyl upholstery, the electronic drive selection goat modes dial, the quick disconnect fender flares, 2.7 ecoboost engine, 10 speed trans, very well dampened suspension, IFS suspension big bonus. My dislikes lightweight interior plastics that mark and scratch easily and can’t see holding well up over time, don’t like the placement of the 3 grab handles in the interior, being that doors have frameless around the windows and there is allot of gasket seals around the doors and top roof lines I see those rubber gasket seals cracking and wearing down overtime. Gas mileage with the 35s tires around the city best you’ll get is 16mpg, the interior payload capacity with occupants and cargo is limited 950 pounds.​

I walked away liking the package but nothing making me crave the bronco for ownership. I see some long term concerns with this model design as it stands now. The best way I can put it is that it can make someone less experienced look like a pro off-roading because of the all the electronic settings with the goat programmed modes. Don’t need all these electronic controls I’ll stick to the more straightforward mechanical simpler setup of the Jeep’s.
