You have to have a faulty seal or bad adjustment. Try these steps before demanding the dealer fix it.
  1. Fully open the top -- completely. This can reset the tension.
  2. Check for bad seals or anything that looks different between the two sides.
  3. Close the top from the fully opened position. This will complete the tension reset.
There is a difference in exterior noise if the top is not properly set. Mine never leaks during 60 mph crosswinds in a rain storm, let alone a car wash. Totally dry. Not a drip.
It was brand new. I opened and closed it to be sure that wasn't the problem. A brand new top shouldn't need to be reset or sitting improperly. They did a rain test with it and found that it leaks on both sides and told me "this has been a problem with this batch". I was actually given the identical one in a different color to drive while they were fixing mine and it also leaked, just not as bad. I'm pretty upset about it. All they did was have an outside entity "water expert" apply an additional sealant rather than trying to figure out what the problem was in the first place.

I would be very upset if that was the dealers answer. Try a different dealers service department. Or contact @JeepCares.

How did you get Lifetime on your '19? I thought they quit offering that in Oct of last year...
Ordered my Rubicon last year in Sep. It was a November build. I received it on the last day of November, which was also the last day that Jeep offered the lifetime warranty.

Hello, new here. Perused this forum before I bought, heard great reviews so I moved forward with purchase and hereā€™s my experience. Bought it, drove home. 30 miles so far. Parked in my driveway, light spring rain and this:

It wonā€™t let me post a video but it was constant, not just a couple drips. I collected a whole trash bag overnight. The dealership applied a sealant and gave it back. I am less than pleased and worried constantly when it rains now. The said the seal isnā€™t guaranteed in a car wash and will probably leak

These tops are so new I donā€™t think you will find any dealers that have much of an answer - they are still trying to figure out how many quarts of oil to put in a JL

I predict this will be an issue for power top owners. I based my prediction on years of other manufacturersā€™ vehicles with sunroofs failing. My 2012 F-150 FX4 sunroof failed in 2017. Aftermarket fix was $1200 with no dealership wanting to touch it. At some point, power top owners will resort to an aftermarket solution.

True enough --- both oil changes and adjusting power tops are easy mechanical fixes. You have to find a service department that is determined to try and fix everything that comes through their doors.

I do not believe that you can simply replace the top with the factory freedom top or a soft top. The front area over the windshield is competently different on the Sky top. There is a thread here of someone who did the opposite (installing a sky top on a normal Wrangler) He stated it took a lot of searching to find the proper parts to convert it.
I'm certain it can be done, but it requires a lot of additional parts that may not be readily available or documented.

Yes, but he was looking for the power top parts. Normal Jeep parts shouldnā€™t be hard to find. It should be a lot easier to go from power top to regular than the other way around.

Hey - can you elaborate on this. I was pretty interested in the lifetime warranty but wasn't ready to place my order. I'm hoping to keep the JL for many, many years, so I'm looking into what my warranty options are.

Yeah - but he said that he got an FCA replacement, and I was wondering what that was...
