It was brand new. I opened and closed it to be sure that wasn't the problem. A brand new top shouldn't need to be reset or sitting improperly. They did a rain test with it and found that it leaks on both sides and told me "this has been a problem with this batch". I was actually given the identical one in a different color to drive while they were fixing mine and it also leaked, just not as bad. I'm pretty upset about it. All they did was have an outside entity "water expert" apply an additional sealant rather than trying to figure out what the problem was in the first place. You have to have a faulty seal or bad adjustment. Try these steps before demanding the dealer fix it.
There is a difference in exterior noise if the top is not properly set. Mine never leaks during 60 mph crosswinds in a rain storm, let alone a car wash. Totally dry. Not a drip.
- Fully open the top -- completely. This can reset the tension.
- Check for bad seals or anything that looks different between the two sides.
- Close the top from the fully opened position. This will complete the tension reset.
