Filters came for the Jeep today. I just ordered 10. That should keep me for a while. The Wix XP filters are what my default is anymore. Synthetic media, compatible with synthetic oils.

Anyone else using Wix XP filters in their Jeep?

FRAM Ultra for me. WIX makes a solid filter but the efficiency of the XP line is quite a bit lower than the Ultra. In the grand scheme of things, it will not likely matter though--engine oil and filters are rarely what "kills" a vehicle.

Yeah, Fram Ultra is a great filter. Fram almost lost a whole segment of consumers for their entire brand with their cheap filters due to their shortcomings and failures, in large part, posted on BITOG.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Just grabbed a few Mobil 1 filters when they had them in the bargain bin at Walmart a few months ago for $3.99, although my default filters have been WIX (including cabin & air filters too) as they are about the best bang for the buck w/ above avg. quality for the price.

The K&N oil filters are currently less than $5 on Amazon.

I'll be using the Wix once the warranty runs out. I'm a firm believer in their filters.

I had a go around with GMC on a Terrain that used skinless filters and the oil ports clogged. I had all my maintenance records and GMC implied the issue could be related to aftermarket filters which GMC would deny the warranty repair. Of course this would require GMC to prove the material was from a Wix filter which they couldn't plus mandating we use OEM filters bring up the Magnuson-Moss warranty act. I just don't want to get to that place again while under warranty.

Have a bunch of Fram Ultra and grabbed 12 Mobil 1 filters for 1$ a piece at Walmart.
