Love to hear from anyone that has used the JL/Gladiator Mount Driver Edition phone holder. They are pricey but sound as if they hold up well. Been looking for someway to hold my phone so I can view my Gaia maps.

Thanks

I have been using one for about a year now. I have no complaints, I can't ever remember the phone so much as slipping in the mount. I also use mine to video "dashcam style" during off road trips.

Did you add the extra screws or just do the one and sticky back.
Thanks

I really like mine, I added the extra screws. Here is the way I cut the rubber insert vs what you will find on most reviews. Fits nicer than cutting at the lower corner.

How did you cut your different? Did you have to drop the front window to drill holes?
Thanks

I’ve been using the 67 Designs system for a while, no issues or rattles. Depending on how you set it up, it will block a portion of the vent and radio so just a heads up on that.

If you look at the arrow going to the bottom corner of the rubber insert is where most have cut it. I cut mine so it sits on top of the 67 designs holder. It keeps the rib that way. No need for lowering the window or drilling. Use a stubby Phillips head and they go right in, soft plastic and do not over tighten.

That is one of the reasons I went with the single ball, which puts the ball farther over vs the rail. This clears the 8.4 screen much better imo. However I can't just add other things either like you can.

Its a flawless product. I installed mine the first week i had my jeep and after 2 years its the most reliable thing about it.
Did you do the single or the rail system?

Utilizing a longer arm will get you the same result with the rail, it will just push the phone holder over to not obstruct the vent or radio. Both set ups are good tho, like you said just depends on future needs etc.

Very true, I forgot about the longer arm.

I got the single arm system. If I ever had a passenger or had plans to mount an ipad mini for map use then I would have gotten the rail. I also used the screws that came with it.
