Took my Rubicon 4Xe out to Rausch Creek Offroading Park in PA to do some wheeling last Sunday with my brother in his Rubicon 4Xe and my friend in his JL Sahara.
I don't know what hurts more, my body from all the rocking and rolling we did, or my face from the non-stop laughing and smiling we were doing!!
We got muddy, we got twisted, we got dusty, and WE HAD A BLAST!!
Bonus to the day: we completed Trail 11 and all earned our first Jeep Badge of Honor!!
I used electric as much as I could to get a good feel for the torque and WOW.. some power!! In 4-LO, there seemed to be a lot of whining, slipping and very slow-going in Hybrid, but once we switched from D to M and set 3rd or 4th gear, it improved immensely.
We tried out the hill decent / accent control and it worked incredibly well.
We also had the sway bars disconnected, and tried the lockers on Trail 11 in the rutted ravine section. Holy crap what a difference it made!! It was unreal!
Basically, we used every off-road option the Jeep had available to use, (even tire-fill assist), and I am more than impressed. This is my first Jeep, and I can honestly say that I don't know if I would ever own another vehicle!!
Mike from Off Road Consulting and Driving Instruction was a wonderful guide who let us figure it out on our own, but made sure we were doing it right every time. We highly recommend him!!
So many photos and videos to go through, but here are a few of the highlights:
