4xe charging port housing and door as air chuck

I am wondering if anyone thinks the same or even tried it. I would like to put on a 4xe port housing and door on my non-4xe JL. I would like to use that as a door for air chuck, and potentially a quick connection for battery tender. My ARB pump is mounted directly below that area near the firewall, so it is very easy to plumb it.

They are kind of pricy though, about $200.

I do need to paint the housing to match body color, as well as make a plate to mount air chuck.

68467793AD looks to be the inside plastic part that the charge plug and door are attached to , the door is part #16 in that diagram

A marine battery tender quick connect would be pretty slick if you could fit it. Something like this:
