Took my ‘22 JLU to the scales today. Weighed 4740 with me in it. Third tank of dead dinosaur, Smittybuilt XRC front bumper with 10,000 pound winch, BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires, soft top.
With a full tank of gas I should still be under the 5,000 limit on my motorhome. I was pleasantly shocked. I expected to be over 5,000.

Wait a minute here- if you took off the winch it would have negative weight and it would float away?
If you want to feel good by comparison- look up the weight of the average Tesla sedan.

Someone posted recently their JLUR was over 6,000 lbs which surprised me. My 72 big block vette weighs 3,200 and keeps me laughing at all the 392's.

I've been happy with a 3030 lever for over 55 yrs. and still commonly available.
Was commonly available until just the past few years. Nothing's been available to order and people are rightly holding onto the ones they have. Ammo has been getting better, but it's been scarcer than most. Used to have dozens around this time of year, but these days if we happen to get one traded in, it's gone in less than an hour.

Fully loaded (2 adults, 2 big dogs, 2 weeks of gear, fridge, tent, etc) my 2 door came in, surprisingly, at almost 6k. It adds up fast.

I need to get an empty weight soon and see how much junk we actually brought.

45-70 hugely popular with guides in Alaska hunting. 30-30 good for Lower 48 deer and such.

Used Marlin 30-30 for years great rifle, also have a 44mag lever rifle carbine. Another cool rifle :)

Ops off topic...
