40K miles on my Jeep and love it. in 2019, I went with a Sport S 6M 3.6L engine. Picked it over the 2.0. Test drove both…the 2.0 definitely had more pep Off the line. But I wanted manual transmission and didn’t trust the turbo Over the stability of the pentastar. This is my first Wrangler. I’m not terribly mechanical. Looks the 2.0 has held up, but I’m still glad I went with the 3.6L.

if you spend much time on this forum, you’ll see talk of wobble and rattles and other problems that might have concerned me as a buyer back in 2019. I’m not invalidating anyone else’s experience. But after 40K miles, I absolutely love driving this Jeep.

I did the clutch recall at about 5K miles just because Jeep recommended it, not b/c I was having any problem. local Discount Tire swapped out my tires…highly recommend them. swapped out the front bumper with one from Westin. I had never heard of them, but my buddy works with them.. We swapped that out in his driveway. Huge upgrade…maybe my favorite mod. Regular maintenance…oil changes, wipers, fluid, etc…probably faster than required because I like to do those things myself. This Jeep has been a dream come true. Just thought I’d throw in my experience. Hope it’s Interesting.

Nice write up. I struggled choosing too. I eventually went with the Turbo.

That decision may come back to bite me in the future, but everyday until then I'll have a smile on my face as the 2.0 is just fun to drive. I can't wait to get her stripped down of all the door and top weight and see how it performs then.

I've never owned a turbo before this one, was always scared of them. So far so good, but only 3,000 miles in.

I've been considering a 392. I just wish they didn't cost so damn much.

4yrs and about 46,000 miles. No issues (other than having to replace a bricked radio). I love driving it. Transmission has been great.

July 6th will be 4 years for me with the 3.6 & MT, ~71,000 miles and no mechanical issues whatsoever!

Gotta shout out to ya'll as well. Purchased - installed my Mickey Thompson 285/70/17 tires/wheels through Discount Tire and the service has been great - free 5-tire rotation and balance is a real plus.

I picked the 3.6L for my '19 also, but with the 8 speed. At 24K miles I have been quite impressed with the little 6 banger. It's not a barn burner, nor will it push you back into the seat at a WOT take off. It just goes about it's business without a grumble. It does everything I ask of it, and we are quite happy together. :)

Time will tell, which is the most reliable long term, the 2.0, or the 3.6. But we have two 3.6 powered vehicles. Our 2013 JKR has the original 3.6 engine. Other than a oil pressure sensor, it has been trouble free. Approx. 49,200 miles on it. Our 2018 JLR, the records show a trouble free 3.6 PUG engine. 19,100 miles as of current. If I was to purchase another one, it would have the 3.6 engine.

What drove me to go 3.6 is I had one a few years before in our old 2012 caravan with 220k on it and I was not nice to that thing lol. I always did maintenance on time and ran synthetic it’s whole life. Only issues was a tsb for the left cylinder head and a cracked thermostat houses. The left cylinder head never left us stranded, simply had a check engine light one day and took it in and they knew what it was right away and replaced it.

Did many road trips through the Canadian Rocky Mountains loaded down with all our camping gear. Was just a great motor with plenty of power to climb the steep grades.

Now we have it in our JL paired with the 8 speed and it’s a fantastic combo and very smooth.
