Has anyone ever attempted to use a 4-door subwoofer in their 2-door? I was looking at my friends limo the other day and noticed that the trim panel holding the subwoofer appears to be identical as the 2-door from the roll-cage rearwards. The wheel-well should be in the same relative location also. The back seat wouldn't fit due to the speaker's protrusion, but other than that I can't see any reason why the minivan stuff wouldn't work.

Even more enticing is JL Audio's products. If these could be made to fit, it looks like the 2-door's rear seat could also be used. Plus they make one for both sides...

I must be the only person in the world who is fine with the in floor subwoofer. It's out of the way, I wouldn't use the underfloor storage anyways, and it self cleans just fine.

Mine works just fine, but I wouldn't mind having more storage and possibly more bass.

I just recently went with a down firing 8” Kicker. Fits perfectly and I can still stack items on top of the enclosure. A 10” box would be tight, but should work.

I have a pair (L&R) of JL Stealthbox 10" subs (along with a stack of other JL Audio goodies) and sometime over the next 6 weeks I plan to install these and see if I can modify (it looks pretty close to began with) the front sub trim to clear the seat when folding. I have had all my audio upgrades for sometime now but between dealing with Dana on backordered parts (I try and complete one project at a time...)and being super busy with work (thank goodness!) I have not had any spare time for Jeep work or play... Will post pictures and write up of what I did and whether or not it will work while leaving the seat in and still being able to fold it up and out of the way.

Put my under the passenger seat where it belongs... I couldn’t stand the thought of loosing useful space in a tiny vehicle.

How's is it getting in/out of the backseat with that in the way? Are you worried about someone stepping on it on the way out? Also did you have the floor subwoofer and changed to the underseat version?

I didn't care for the way the factory Alpine system sounded and didn't like the fact it did take up useful space. So I purchased a Jeep with a base sound system and upgraded the speaker in sound bar and knee panels plus this Alpine amp/subwoofer kit. It sounds way better then even the factory Alpine. I only had someone in the back a handful of time and if someone sits back there, they are most likely to be flexible enough to get back there without out much trouble. I also tend to open the door and move the seat forward, so I would point it out to them.

I'm also most likely going to keep the rear seat out most of the time. Probably going to buy a 4 door truck for those times I need to move more then two people around.

I went from a JLUS to my wonderful JLR and was wildly disappointed in the loss of valuable storage space the 2-door woofer caused. I'm thinking of doing without the woofer just to gain back that great storage area.

I went the other way, my sub takes up most of the rear area. I’m ok with that, though. The LOC and Amp are mounted to the box. A quick disconnect on the 4 speaker wires and a quick disconnect on power and ground cables and the hole thing lifts out. I can remove my sub in 30 seconds. Leave it at home when on the trail too.

I'm planning to remove the sub from the floor, just to regain some space for recovery gear and tools. I know I'll either need a new cover, or more likely use a bit of plywood and carpet to fill in the hole in the existing cover.

When I had a JKU, I removed the sub and didn't miss it.

Under cargo rack and only takes up the space where your knees would be if sitting where the back seat was
