Hello there, bonjour.
In another thread, i’ve said it takes between 3 and 5 months to get a Wrangler in Canada, based on what my dealer said.
After a triple check with canadian journalists, yes, it’s true and not a dealer bullshit. Here’s why it happens.
- One journalist mentionned that with exchange rates between US and Canada, they can eat their profit margin by up to 6000 $CAN if they sell the truck in Canada instead of the US. That means Canada is really not a priority.
- The other confirmed that information and added that semiconductors, used in many Jeep parts, are actually very rare due to the very high demand for video game consoles, computers, TVs, etc. So Americans first, more lucrative markets second, Canada not far away from dead last on the priority list.
There’s even clients who ordered Cherokees and Renegades who ended up receiving a call from their dealer saying their order was purely and simply cancelled. Yup, it happens.
So. That’s why we have to wait for months. We have a single payer healthcare system, you have Jeeps first. Fair is fair.
