I’m well aware that 4.88’s or higher are preferred when going to 37’s. Anyone here ever go to 37’s with the factory 4.10’s? I want real world experience not what your third cousins thrice removed great uncle told you would or would not work.

Haha. There is probably more on here with 37s and stock gears than 37s with gear swaps. At least that is what my ex dogs owners 3rd cousin told me. :)

I ran 39’s on them for a bit. Not the world ending experience the internet lead me to think. It even offroaded pretty good.
With the 6 speed it was actually really smooth around town. Probably hard on the clutch though.
What specific things would you like to know?

I'm riding on 37' with stock 4:10 gear and i have a 6 speed manual. I've not lost my 6 speed or encountered any problem, although i live in Missouri where there aren't many mountains to climb....lol

I’ve got the 2.0 with the 8 speed auto, and issues at highway speeds going into OD? Rubbing with a 2.5” lift? You know the usual stuff.

for what is worth, i have the Mopar 2.5 lift installed and no rubbing whatsoever and as you can see from my photo, still plenty of room..

I never felt losing the highway gears was a huge deal. Yes, you lose some get-up-and-go, but my driving style is pretty sedate. So my 6 speed turned into a 4 speed. It sounds like your 8 speed turned into a 7. Not too long ago 4 gears was pretty standard and we all lived. It’s just the fuel mileage and acceleration that declines, neither are really strong points of the Jeep.

I haven’t gone to 37’s just yet. I’m kind of on the fence between those and 35’s to be honest.

You did not mention the engine, but if a non-etorque 3.6L with ZF8, it will be pretty miserable.

I have 2.0, 2 door Rubicon, 37" bfg ko2 load range C and some quadratec wheels which are pretty light. It drives well enough that I would never consider regearing it.
I think ko2 37s in load C are the best 37” to get for stock gears. They’re only a couple of pounds heavier than the load c ko2 35s that I’m running.

I went 37 KO2's and had stock 4.10's for 2 years. Finally decided to regear after driving on I 90 in a head wind and not ablr to get out of 5th. Usually I was in 7th.

Now that I have 4.88's I am in 8th most of the time

I just wore out of a set of Cooper STT Pros in 37x12.5r17 in my Mopar lifted Rubi with 4.10 gears and the 8 spd.. 4.10's are very do-able off-road. JL's being at least 390 lbs. lighter than JLU's can't hurt, so we got that going for us.

I ran 35s and 37s on the stock gearing for about 40k miles now. Just regeared to 5.13s. It drives fine you just loose a gear and a lot of low end power.

3.6 engine, 8 speed auto trans, 37 inch Cooper STT Pros, 4.10 gears, and I sometimes "spin tires" off the line. Like you said 4.88s would be preferred but I have no desire to regear. I'm not worried about MPG, it's all about SPG, Smiles Per Gallon! ;)
