Hey y'all!

So I was contacted by @WOLFBOX CAR LIFE on here and have been given the opportunity to review some floor mats for free.

Now you guys know me (or if you don't, you will), My Wrangler is somewhere between a travesty and really strange/cool, DIY/custom modifications. I didn't choose my name for nothing, My Wrangler stays dirty 24/7!! I can count on two fingers the number of times I've had a spotless clean Wrangler. Once when I picked it up from the dealership, and another time when I got it detailed before I went on a trip with the family.

So I agreed to do a review of these free floor mats with the understanding that I'm going to torture test them TREDSDERT style! Which basically means, they were free so I'm going to treat them like I don't care about them!

Now personally my initial thoughts on them were kind one of them being too nice for someone like me. That is to say they are soft and supple and seemingly a luxurious rubber.

I had a previous pair of WeatherTechs in the front and they are a much more hard and sturdy rubber and they've held up pretty good for what I put them through. They're at the point where they're kind of scratched up So maybe it's good timing for all this to happen anyways.

I'm going to link some of these videos from my YouTube channel and organize them in spoilers so that you guys aren't left with a 43 page first post!

So I'll be continuing posting in here as I beat the crap out of these floor mats. Some of the things I plan on doing are:

-Caking them in mud, letting it dry in our nice 100Ā° Texas heat, and then spraying it off with a power washer.
-General use/observation of quality over time.
-I've got no AC in my Wrangler, and even when I did I never used it; Windows down even when it rains in the summer, so they'll be feeling all of the elements! (It's Texas, The seats will dry out in 5 minutes once it stops raining)

Like I say, it's a Jeep, it's meant to get beat up!

So this first photo is before I went off-roading this past Saturday, we had some rain and you know "windows down, why not!"

This was taken on Sunday after we had gone off-roading on Saturday.

Just, you know, to give some credence to how I treat my Wrangler! ;)

One thing I've noticed right off the bat is where my dead pedal sits, it tends to dig into the mat a little bit, and with this rubber being softer (AKA more luxurious) It seems to be digging into it quite a bit quicker than it did my last set of WeatherTechs'.

Definitely something I'll have to keep an eye on!

Supposed to get some rain later this week so we'll get to see how it holds up to getting soaked!

I got to say, not that I'm necessarily in the market for floor mats, but for 130 bucks, I can already tell you these are more than worth it!

Majority of you are going to be purchasing formats and not completely destroying them like I tend to do with my stuff. So for most of you guys these soft and supple and good quality mats will probably be perfect for you.

Poking around their website, look at this mat, I didn't really notice it, which probably says a lot, but now that I think about it, I didn't smell anything.

Here's some things WolfBox was nice enough to tell me about this product...

Now me personally, I don't really care about the eco-friendly stuff nor the recyclable side of it, but if that's your thing, kind of cool factoids.

Interesting. The 3W floor mats appear to be clones of the Lasfit mats that I reviewed here.

Let us know your thoughts regarding the loss of the drain plug accommodation.
Not shocked, both Lasfit and Wolfbox products are made in China. It's probably like any of those people who sell those two doors, there's like six different companies that sell the exact same doors, they're all made by the same manufacturer in China.

That's a pretty common practice, buy a general product and stick your name on it and call it a day.

Just curious @Heimkehr what was your overall thought of the Lasfit mats?

I could probably read through your thread, but why not get some thoughts on it here. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø ;)

I asked first. ;)

But seriously...
I like them better than I do the OEM floor mats. The Lasfit/3W/Lord Knows Who Else floor mats don't scuff nearly as easily, and do appear to have a sturdy construction.

They look better, too, although it's understood that aesthetics are subjective.

The L/3W/LKWE floor mats remain in my Jeep to this day.

I do think they look better. My Jeep came with carpets and some carpet mats, but for whatever reason when my factory order was placed, It was during COVID, so they didn't have the weatherproof mats, so I was stuck buying aftermarket ones. And honestly these look way better than my WeatherTech ones even right out of the box. The WeatherTech looked cool and they definitely do their job, but these honestly look more luxurious. Don't worry though I'll change that! šŸ¤£ šŸ˜Ž

Given your Jeep's intentional exposure to the elements, what's your takeaway about having to remove the 3W mats to avail yourself of the footwell drain holes?

I didn't see that part.

So because I couldn't get factory weatherproof floor mats when I did my factory order, I had to get aftermarket ones and I chose to go the less expensive way and get the WeatherTech, and they don't have drain plugs.

Honestly up till now, for the most part water doesn't collect too much in my footwell area, and if it does, not a lot of it gets in the actual floor mat pans, but if a lot does build up in there, I've always just yanked them out and dumped all the water in the footwell area and let it drained on its own and then stuck the mat right back.

So if anything I'm used to not having a drain plug in the mat. Though realistically I could probably cut one in these if it became an issue. It's definitely a soft enough rubber that I could probably get away with it without destroying the mat too much.

We are supposed to get some rain this week in Texas, so you know me with my windows down, we'll see how much water collects down there.

I wouldn't be surprised if the OEM ones were made in China too.

To be frank, you as a customer, just choose those products of high-quality that suit you the best, made in China or not shouldn't be a problem ;) Go for good ones, discard bad ones, right?:like:

Think the idea of choosing Tredsdert to do a review of your company's product is funny af, but not necessarily a bad idea. I mean, if they hold up halfway well to his abuse and utilitarian neglect (not meant in a disparaging way), then they'd surely last me many years of regular use.

I've been using the "premium" WeatherTech mats for a couple years now and quite enjoy them. Think they're a little bit softer than their standard mats (that I used for well over a decade in my last vehicle), but still quite rigid and scuff up just the same. Driver-side fitment was kinda weird in the same spot that your WB mats didn't want to latch securely. Had to really pull at them to get them to snap right. Honestly don't see any reason to spend the extra money on the WT premium version.

These kinda remind me of the thicker/softer OEM Mopar all-weather mats, which seem nice. My only concern with a softer, floppy mat without an integrated drain plug, like the Mopar mats, is their ability to be removed while holding a spilled Slushie or whatever without spilling that shit into the seats or carpeting. Maybe something worth testing after a topless rain shower? Can even use a sexy crackwhore and a 40oz beer for maximum political incorrectness since you're not an internet f***** šŸ˜‚

Anyway, good review so far! šŸ‘

My wife has the factory mats in her JLU, I have weathertec in my H2.

Personally I like my weathertec over the factory Jeep mats.

Not only that weathertec products are designed and manufactured in the US. Not an assault on China but even if things cost a little more as long as the quality is comparable I would rather support US workers!. You can't go wrong!

I wanted to state that I do plan on doing more to this long-term review for these floor mats, but life has gotten busy lately. I'm about to fly out to Boston for my cousin's wedding this weekend, and with my grandkids living with me full time as of late, it's made my life rather complicated. Between that and working 50 hour work weeks, and still having to take care of my home and my family, fun / enjoyable things like reviewing these really cool floor mats has kind of taken a back burner.

So I just want you all to know, I will be posting more in here and I will be doing more with these floor mats, I just need to get my personal life situated before I start doing things that are exciting and risque. šŸ˜‰ šŸ¤—

Here's my front passenger floor mat as of right now.

And here is some of the wear that is being caused by my modified dead pedal.
