🍭 there’s a sucker born every minute and the buyer has his minute covered. Makes me wish I bought two, sell one to a sucker like that buyer and almost pay off the keeper.

How'd that red one lose the steel bumpers?

That one appears to be an aftermarket 392 conversion. Wrong bumpers, dash, stitching, etc.
EDIT: Just noticed it also says "Custom" in the title.

Prices for many cars are bonkers right now, especially used. Whoever bought that got ripped off, I would have sold them my 392 for $149k.

Stocks are trash right now. Cash is trash right now due to inflation. Real estate is at all time highs and many feel it's going to crash as well.

So some put cash into what they think will be appreciating assets. Classic art, collectables, etc.

When Japan's markets crashed many bought American classic muscle cars as an appreciating asset.

So I expect it to be a wild couple years for limited production vehicles that might become tomorrows classics.

I have a customized 392XR that has better suspension than the one sold here AND a iPhone holder. It also has authentic trail rash on the undercarriage AND body from real life wild rocks and free range trees. I’d let it go to one of you fellow forum members for $148k if you are interested. A hell of a deal compared to that auction.

The more I think about it, this seems like someone looking for a loss to offset a big gain somewhere else, or a laundering operation.

I saw the 392 at BJ on Saturday, decked out exactly like mine. I don't have the self control to limit mine to 64 miles...bought it to drive it. But good to see. A couple other custom jeeps I saw there...first one is still available. 2nd went for $66k. No regrets.

I don't know about $150k but I do think the 392s will maintain value for a long time, especially if they don't make it past '22 or '23. I wouldn't be surprised if they never depreciate provided the owner doesn't overly molest it with mods.

I think the 392 will be like the original Land Rover Defender. Highly coveted and worth stupid money to enthusiast.

There just aren't a lot of 392s being built and once they are gone, it will be gone.

At least this is the excuse I keep telling myself to justify buying one.

Worked for me, it’s an excuse that could become a reality!🤗
