I can't wait to put on 37's and install this so I can get even less mileage per gallon! Can't wait for the day it arrives now that it's finally in production! Exiting! :time:

Pretty sure that I'll be crushing or ripping those tail pipes off in the first 30 days... they're in a very compromised location

Yikes. I'm middle aged which explains why I don't understand why such a big engine is good in a Jeep. Get the EcoDeisel. Same torque which is really what is important on the trail .
4xe has more torque

Thinking I should buy a half-dozen tail pipes in advance. No way they survive...
Might just take it all off and install crawler exhaust. Will have to see in person and then decide.

...I speculated the 392 wouldn't be any different in other threads and had tomatoes thrown at me.

I don't know why, but for some reason that sentence literally just made me laugh out loud! I'm seriously still chuckling while I'm typing this. 😅

It's probably because I'm reading this at 3 am. Hope didn't wake anyone up! 😲

Approximately 63 percent of our electricity comes from burning fossil fuels, mostly coal and natural gas. 3

So much for cheap operating electric cars
Even burning dirty fuels such as coal and natural gas is WAY cleaner than individual engines. Until we embrace nuclear electric cars will be run on those fuels, and it will still be an improvement.

I am a big electric vehicle fan more just to make sure we leave gas for all the old cars 😉.

Get it tuned. I gained 3-4 mpg with the livernois tune. And with the price of gas going up I can use E85. It's still $2/gal here, 85oct is $2.50 now. If the cost difference is at least 20% you will save money on E85.

I'm totally fine with those numbers. Just need to install an AUX tank to increase the range. I'd have zero issue buying that if it was just a standard engine option.

$9500 over 5yrs in extra cost. That is only $1900 a year. Yeah, I'll be ok paying that. Plus having a last of breed unicorn is always nice as well.

Plus, I might spend that on diesel, Fuel Filters, the extra oil....etc if I go with the diesel. At least with the 392 I would need to deal with or worry about all the emission stuff like on the diesel.

If gas prices soar as much as widely predicted, that $9500/5yrs will seem like a distant dream. Regarding 3.6 mileage, I've never reset the average readout since new and my average is 22.1 at 12,546 miles. (JLUS auto with stock wheels and tires.)

392 On Order
Couple of thoughts here...

1- I think I read somewhere the 392 has a 4cyl cruise option which may improve mpg quite a bit on the road (assuming you are not passing everything out there) so perhaps they won't be all that bad.. but like others here, I don't really care, I want what I want and I want a V8... I already have a couple of EVs so can drive those to the store...

2- There is so much damn oil around the world now I don't see Oil prices going all that much higher any time soon... But Gas prices are going up, today they reflect unsustainable pricing for producers, most need north of 50 bucks a bbl to make it work... Now how much additional tax they put on it is anyone's guess...

3 - There is a 4gal larger fuel tank you can get as an option on the 3.6L but my dealer did not see it as an option for my 392 order I just did a few days ago which leads me to believe it will be standard on the 392 and wisely so.

Can't wait to see what MSRP is and to get my hands on this really cool vehicle..

Cheers

I think it’s 4 gals of fuel in the tank. Not a larger tank
