They’re using same method Toyota used to install V-8 in 4runner and retain same axles. Only full-time four-wheel-drive automatic distributes power front/rear. taller gear ratio help ring and pinion strength like diesel 3.73 reinforced Mojave frame. No front axle disconnect with cv boots. Parts bin conversion.

I think they'll sell every one they make. That 450 lb-ft of torque is tempting - but, unfortunately, the low MPG of the V8 will keep me away.

I don't like to re-fuel in the dust bowl that's our West Desert. My 3-liter Diesel goes from Salt Lake City to Fairfield, then up to Wendover Nevada, on a 3/4 tank of fuel. That's 10 hours of off roading in dirt - without refueling. And, by my calculations, I'd have to double the amount of fuel carried to make it with the V8.

But, bring it on, Jeep. I think this is a wonderful change for the Wrangler.

I still don't think it's going to happen. In fact, I think the likelihood of half doors happening is even less than the 392. But I would love Jeep to prove me wrong.

Eat which words? I still haven't heard anyone from Jeep suggesting this will make it to production.

I was daring Jeep to build a v8 wrangler and half doors basically (to prove you wrong). Gotta be provocative to get Jeeps blood flowing.

I really just want the half doors.
Just heads up, not that they’re not cool, but if you’re like me and loved the ole TJ half doors, the new half doors won’t be the same. Speaking as someone who had a pair of JK half doors and both a TJ with half doors, the newer half doors come up much higher than the older ones. I think it’s due to new door safety standards or something...
