Placed my order last week and got my confirmation email from Jeep earlier today and also got my VIN #. I‘m so stoked! First Jeep ever.

Thanks to Kent from Petersen!

Hey all. So this order was placed in October but my dealer said nothing has changed on it yet. Does anyone know why they’re taking so long to start the build?

Pretty par for the course IMO. When I ordered my 392 XR, it was like 6 months before it started production. My parents sport S took ~4 months to start production.

Can't speak for how production is going right now but if you ordered in October, my guess is you'll see it Feb or March (probably March).

Respectfully u will just have to try to not think about it and sit back and wait. If you got an XR package ordered on it thats great! I thought they were done for the 392 model, even before October. A big dealer that I sold my 4XE told me that and said the regular 392s were able to be ordered until the end of the year. If they had an allocation for an XR thats awesome. But if one was ordered in Oct, I would ask if at least that order was accepted and u got an order number or VIN to know its locked in.

I placed an order on a 392 XR on June 10. It was built Nov 10, and shipped Dec 14. The estimated delivery date is Jan 14 at my dealers. To make it worse my sales guy called me and told me my Jeep just arrived off the truck. They are a small dealer and I asked are u sure its mine. I don't see the XR fender extensions. He said its yours and assured me. Then after posting the one photo he sent on here, others said the wheels and tires were not of the XR type either. So I call him back and said will u check the VINs to my order. He calls back and said it's not yours. They are a small dealer and he never dreamt someone had a red 392 on order. GRRRRR! lol

With mine, the dealer had it on order already with the XR package but we went in and modified it in October to my specs since the XR package could no longer be ordered. I don’t mind the wait if it’s normal. When I ordered my 2021 JLUR it was fast. I ordered it on 11-30-2020 and it got delivered to my dealership on I think 02-12-2021. Right after I ordered it is when Jeep announced the 392, and then a few months later the XR package. Had those been options when I ordered my current one that’s what I would have gone with instead but they weren’t yet. But I’m okay with waiting. In some ways it helps me out because more money gets paid on my current Jeep.

Thats awesome, I am glad they had one ordered, you are set. I do like the seats better in the 392s in general. More comfy than I had in my 4XE. The one thing I did on the 4XE is ceramic paint that rear exhaust so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I will do the same on the 392. Rock hard makes a rear shield that will cover a lot of it and I might check that out as well

Yeah, the long wait on a 392 is pretty common, and no one really knows why some of them get built in a couple months and some take forever.

I ordered my 2021 392 in late December of 2020 and it was built and delivered by early April. So not too terrible at just under 4 months to delivery. Then the 2022 XR 392 I ordered in December of 2021 to replace my first one with was accepted, and issued a VIn within only about 48 hours of submitting my order.

We were really excited that the quick acceptance and Vin would mean a short wait time. But… six months later, in June, it STILL hadn’t even been issued a build/ship date.

We ultimately gave up on it and bought a similar one that showed up at another local dealership instead.

Ironically, the one we originally ordered was issued a build date just a few days after we bought the different one. Because of course it was. ?

So try not to sweat it too much. If you already have a Vin # for your XR equipped 392, you should be fine.

Hope this helps, and hope some good news comes your way soon!

Hello all -

Curious to get feedback from everyone on our build, as we just moved to Scheduled today.

We are over 6 months into the order process now, and are curious how fast things usually go now once it's in this bucket?

Thanks for any help you can give us. We are thinking we will probably get it delivered around the end of February, based on what the dealer said, but are curious if people agree with that estimate?

Thanks for any feedback.

No rhyme or reason to scheduling, could move fast now or still be a couple months...

My 392 XR has been near 8 months in basically since my order confirmed on June 10th. It showed an estimated delivery on the tracker of Nov 27th. Then about a day before that was to happen it changed to TBD, or to be determined.

Since that time the Jeep shows shipped on Dec 14th and the new delivery date has been Jan 12. Lucky times, it happened again. Tonight I looked on the tracker and it has a TBD under the estimated delivery again lmao.

Yeah, this is exactly what we are concerned about based on our experience so far.

I am hoping not and we get this thing soon, but right now I don't have much faith in their process. I guess we will see.

Have you been able to get the dealership to call and see what is going on with that, since it appears its all done and shipped out to you?

The dealership told us shipping usually takes 2-3 weeks once it's on the train, but not sure how accurate that is either?

Yes I did get a hold of the dealer and my sales person. He pulled up the tracking on his computer and it shows it arrived by rail to the shipping yard in a state over from me. It also seems it was loaded onto a carrier truck for my dealer and shows the carriers name. I don't think it will be long, and will I update to any news if I get it.
