38x13.50 Patagonias on stock Rubicon wheels

Is anyone running them? I"ve searched and find lots of guys running 37x12.50s on the stock Rubicon wheels and they're doing fine. Is the extra 1" in section width a deal breaker?

No halfway reputable tire shop is going to mount a 38x13.5" tire on a 7.5" wide wheel...the tires are spec'd for an 8.5" or wider wheel for a reason. The tires would balloon alot on a 7.5" wheel, wear terribly and you'd need large wheel spacers to clear if you want any room for flex. It's not worth it...pony up and buy some proper wheels if you want to run 38s.

I'm running the 37s at 12.5", I wouldn't touch the 13.5s on a stock rim.

I love the look of big tires on the stock wheel plus I can't really find a wheel that catches my eye. I know tons of people are running 37s with no trouble. I might just have to be the guinea pig.

Get the factory wheels widened by an inch.

I am in the same boat - like the looks of the factory wheels and not found an aftermarket of same appeal or quality.

Gonna order the MC 3.5" Gamechanger tomorrow! If it doesn't work out I can always buy wheels. Still gonna talk to a tire guru first. Don't want anything dangerous.
