I had my heart set on some 37” BFG KM3s but the size I need are on backorder locally. I’ve sold my current wheelset and need to get a new set within a week. Looking for recommendations from members on a good performing (not to heavy) mud terrain tire. I’m not overly concerned about road noise.

We have two sets of cooper STT pro tires. Like them. Not very loud and can find them on sale from 262-264 each

Did you try DTD? They can ship them to you or your local shop.

The Milestar Patagonia MT is very popular right now. I have had two sets and like them.

So I found a set of 13.5" wide KM3s. Currently I'm running KM2s that are 12.5" wide. Any drawbacks to running the wider tire? It's only two lbs heaver than the 12.5" option at 81lbs vs 79lbs. Anyone running 13.5" wide 37s with a 2" Mopar lift? I believe my offset (-12) and backspacing (4.5) should allow me to fit the wheels without rubbing.

They do not list that size for a 17" wheel. Also, make sure it doesn't jump to a load range E.

I know it was already suggested... but 1-5lbs isn't crazy weight when heavy is heavy. mine drives great and functions great (Mopar 2" and 37x12.50 Toyo MT's)
so I second the Toyo's. I was concerned about weight as well... but it drives awesome, and would buy the same setup again.

Thanks all for the quick feedback. I have a habit of moving quickly once I’ve made a decision. So I sold off my set of KMC 17 x 9 KMC XD 127 Bully Wheels and 35 x 12 r17 BFG KM2s. Just ordered 18 x 9 Fuel Hardline D162 wheels (smallest diameter available) and 37 x 13.5 r18 KM3s. The tires actually turned out to be the best “reputable” tire deal I could find in a 37 x 18 option locally (and my brand preference). They are load range “E” but I’ve read and spoken to many friends that have varying views on D vs E so I’m willing to try them out and run them at a little lower PSI on road and off. My only concern is clearance when fully flexed with a 2” Mopar lift. Once everything is mounted I’ll leave a follow up on the outcome. Regardless I’m psyched about new 37” wheels! Although almost sad to see the old set go as they have been true soldiers thru some rough terrain lol. Glad to see someone else making use of them!

Here was the final outcome. BFG 37 x 13.5 r18 on 18 x 9 Fuel Hardline wheels.

What other tires have you run? How would you compare the milestar's in terms of on road noise? I'm looking for lighter, quiet, load d 37's for a 25k/yr daily driver/wknd warrior. Currently have 35" ko2's and looking at 37" milestar, ko2 possibly km3. Recommendations?

In the past 5 years I have run these tires:

GY Duratrac
Mastercraft MXT
Yokohama Geolandar MT+
Pro Comp Xtreme MT
Milestar Patagonia
BFG KO2
BFG KM
BFG KM2

The Milestars are comparable to the BFG KO2 in road noise. They are very quiet and smooth. You won't find an MT with less road noise.

A 37 inch Milestar will run an inch or so taller than the BFG will.
Under the jeep, the Milestar will measure 36 even, the BFG about 35 inches. With that being said, the BFG will probably have slightly less impact on acceleration loss.
