What kind of trips are you talking about? Rock crawling or fire roads? Rock crawling 37's and skids.
Fire roads, non-technical trails? 35s and save your money on skid plates use the money for a lift.

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
Those are two options I wouldn't pick. Good luck.

Don't crawl on Rick without his permission! You're asking for trouble!

But the rest of what he said I agree with. Just no Rick crawling.

What? You could have posted literally anything else and it would have been more helpful than what you said!
Huh, I thought "good luck" was a pretty cordial thing to add. Your quoting of my post seems less helpful than saying good luck, as it doesn't even address the original post(er). If you're trying to win a "least helpful" post award, I think you did; if nothing more, you can have my award if you want.

as the title says, for a daily driver that goes on a few trips a year

35's with skids or 37's without.

Whats everyones thoughts
Answering B4 reading so as not to sway my opinion. Since these are the only 2 options, 35's WITH skids.

I don't think I would wheel (at least how I do) without skids at ANY height/tire size.

I like to challenge myself and my vehicle. I also tend to wheel each JP at stock height B4 adding any height changing mods. I do this for a year or 2 typically.

On my most recent (JLURD), I added stronger diffs, better rock rails and after the first wheeling trip, I upgraded to a stronger rear bumper to help eliminate it flexing up into the tub.

After the Colorado and Moab trips, I added a secondary/stronger fuel filter skid, do to the weakness of the OEM skid.

This system has worked for me.

37s will only net you 1" of ground clearance over 35s...unless you are talking about 315s which are even shorter. When the 35s wear out then decide if you want 37s; depending on gear ratio you are running.

If you're doing trails that are so difficult you require the extra 1 inch you get with 37's, you'd be nuts to not also install skids.

What no rickroll?

Not that it matters but I’ve gotten into the body just above the rock rails. Also backed into a boulder and bent a rear quarter and destroyed a tail light.
I did replace the factory skid on the FAD as those are expensive.
All fun doing it though and it still goes to work everyday.
